I had my friend Paul King at Defiant Model Creations replace the LED with a green one, but it was still lackluster. He convinced me to let him put in two LED's, one for each eye, and now he looks much more sinister. Light bleed was a concern I had, and he took care of that as well. He also converted the button on his head into a slider switch for "always on" operation of the eyes. None of that blinking crap.

Thanks for the kind replies! :)

    Paul sez:

If you want to keep the blinking action and just replace the one LED with a correct green one, that is $25. If you want to disable that blinking crap, put TWO LED's in, and alter the button into a sliding switch for "always on" operation, that is $50. Shipping is NOT included, and although he guarantees his work, you will need to pay shipping insurance should you want it, etc.

Just visit his site and send him an email from there. Defiant Model Creations

How did he take care of the light bleed situation?

I picked up an extra Unicron head to practice this on, but the fact of the matter is I don't know the first thing about soldering, LED's, or circuit boards. I'd be kinda afraid.

That's why I had Paul do it. He's been building and lighting models, as well as modding toys, for a long time. This Unicron is just incredible now.

I THINK Paul used the same method he uses for model kits that have lighting, which is using black and/or silver paint inside.
