My brother and I recently saw the Amazing Spider Man. We started a-tickity-talkin and he eventually said something along the lines of "Story wise, spider man was much deeper and better than The Avengers" I said "in my opinion the avengers had a slightly better story due to character interaction." He said avengers was one long fight scene. I at first shrugged him off, but now I'm unsure which was better. I still think avengers was story wise, but the more I think of it, the more I'm unsure. I thought to myself....

Who's the most trustworthy bunch of friends and awesome people on the Internet.....

And I couldnt find any, so I came to the closest thing and decided to ask you guys. To those who have seen both: which movie did you find better and why?

Remember, everyone's entitled to their opinion, so there's no point in arguing.

You should have added a poll to the thread. :)

I loved both movies, but Spiderman surpassed my expectations. Avengers was good, but it took a second viewing for me to enjoy it as much as I do now.

I absolutely loved both but I'd go with Spidey. I thought the story was better and the action was way cooler. ASM was the Spider-Man movie I've been waiting for since I was a kid. I will say that I think Loki was the better villain though.

The Avengers. More/better action scenes and CGI and some of the scenes in Spider-Man were too awkward/cheesy. Also liked the characters in Avengers more.

The Amazing Spider-Man may have a deeper story but the Avengers was on a much larger scale and pulled it off much better.

The Avengers' plot is fairly simple but it's executed very well and the character interactions really help sell the movie as well.

I liked Spidey better. ASM was meant to be more mysterious and deep, while Avengers did exactly what the writers wanted: Deliver a movie that puts together a bunch of superheroes without going Michael Bay's route and denying them any sort of character. Both worked perfectly, but I really enjoyed the amount of emothion Spiderman delivered.

While I liked both, I thought The Avengers was the better movie. Having said that, The Amazing Spider-Man kills the Raimi Trilogy.

I choose the Avengers. I actually didn't like the amazing Spider-man. I preffer Raimi's versions much more despite his stubborness to include some cheese every now and then. It had way more heart than this new one.

I loved them both. But Spider-Man holds a special place in my heart because I grew up with him and his movies. So Spider-Man for me is the better film (just by that much), but that's not necessarily an unbiased opinion.

I think the Avengers takes it. The Avengers seemed fresh while even though I likes the Spiderman movie it felt like a rehash.

    Avengers by FAR.

Maybe Avengers spoiled me, but after seeing that and enjoying it as the best superhero, or best movie I've ever seen period, every other superhero movie after it this year barely registers as a blip on my radar.

Avengers is my new favorite movie and I barely tolerated ASM.

    Guess what my choice is.
