Ok kids, I'd really appreciate some help with this. I'm going crazy trying to remember where the H I got this huge, hi-res pic of movie Prime. I set it as my wallpaper like a month ago, but didn't save it first and don't want to lose it when I change my background. As you'll see below, it's a huge picture so you see more/less of Prime depending on whether it's tiled, centered, or stretched. I vaguely recall somebody on these boards posting it, but "search" came up with 500,000 OP pics but this one. Same with Google image search. Thanks to the billionth degree!

I know little about Windows, but wouldn't the wallpaper image be stored somewhere, and just copy to another directory?

you should be able to find if the computer auto-saved it by right clicking on the desktop, click properties, click desktop, and if the pic is highlighted, then click browse, and the folder where it is stored will open. If it is not saved somewhere, then good luck..:thumb

wait... so its still set as your desktop pic but you dont have the actual pic atm?? is that what you are saying? if so:

    go to: control panel>folder options>show hidden folders/files

    right click on start>explore

    and go to:
    C:\Documents and Settings\*idkWUTursIS*\Application Data\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Internet Explorer Wallpaper.BMP

and it should be there. if not idk.

You probably found it on the net and right clicked it and selected "Set As Desktop Background..." as opposed to actually saving the image. Still, that means you must have found the image once. You could try going through your history for the day you found it and see if you can find the link.

Yup, I was actually asking if anybody could help figure out where on the web I found it. Like I said, I haven't stumbled on it since. I have a feeling it was here on TFW, so I'll just have to dedicate a whole day to the search function :lol

D'oh, that led me to some cutesy picture of a bunny called "baby cinnamon" WTF?! Stupid second-hand computers! I also used this method to check the firefox folders...still nothing.

And just to clarify, the pictures I posted are screencaptures of my desktop featuring the Prime picture I'm looking for.

Even if you "set as desktop background" from the net, you still have it. Otherwise it wouldn't load.

    Go to HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Control Panel\Desktop\Wallpaper - it's there as a BMP.

And when you do find it, share! :)

FOUND IT!!! Thanks for all the suggestions! I did a Windows search for .bmp files and came up with Firefoxwallpaper.bmp. So, here it is saved in jpeg format: Enjoy!

Props/credit to whoever originally posted it or created it when I first found it :thumb
