I liked him. If he had transformed, it would have been PERFECT.

 

Im glad he lived, so therell be more of him in TF3

 

I liked him, quite effective in what he does.

 

when i first heard he wasnt going to transform and wasnt going to come to earth, i thought oh god hes ruined. but it turned out not to be so bad. at least we saw his face and he said a few lines, and they didnt kill him off so he can come back for another movie.

one thing i would have liked him to do was say a line when he sends ravage to retrieve the allspark dragment. i think he should have 'ravage: eject. operation: retrieval'. that would have been a nice little refference  

 

Soundwave was awesome. Hearing Welker do Soundwave was such a cool thing. I actually prefered that we didn't get a lot of SW cuz now (like you guys have mentioned) we're gonna hopefully get him playing a major role in the 3rd installment.

 

Loved Soundwave. The cons had some good character development this time.

 

I thought he was awesome.

 

I liked the idea of him lurking in orbit manipulating things but I hope we get to see him on Earth or even Cybertron in the 3rd movie.

that's right! He showed that he actually served a purpose as a member of the Decepticons and serves a minor part in the story instead of just being a character that gets killed off quickly like some of the other cons

We got to know more of Soundwave than all the Constructicons combined

 

I completely forgot he was in the movie.. then I heard, "Soundwave acknowledges." Man, that gave me goosebumps. I heard people in the theater say, "Ahhhhh," in amazement.

 

I loved Soundwave in the movie. Him and Ravage were the main things I was looking forward to in the movie. He was in the movie a lot more than I thought he would be, but I really wish there was more scenes of him. I just hope he will have an even bigger roll in TF3. When I first hears his voice it caught me off guard, but I didn't think it was bad at all. I think it fit him very well.

 

because the vocoder is what made his voice iconic...i could care less who did the voice if it sounded how it should have, but having welker do it would have just been nice

 

The early pessimism got me a bit worried, but I'm overall pleased with Soundwave in the film. It's logical why he'd stay stuck on that satellite, and it made his part in the movie more important than just being another 'con to shoot a gun.

In general, I'm very pleased with the idea that not all Decepticons are soldiers, and that even in their army they have medics like the Doctor and a communications officer like Soundwave.

As to the voice, I'm not bummed they didn't use the vocoder, but I wish it had been a little bit more robotic. He sounded less robotic than nearly every other robot in the movie, who all have a hint of processing over their voice-acting.

 

They said he will have a very short time in the movie, but he had more showtime than most of them actually. Compared to arcees, jolt, sideswipe, sideways

 

Haven't seen the movie yet, glad to hear most people like Soundwave's role though. I know petitions are usually pretty ineffective but I'm sure if the fans bitched enough they would vocode his voice for the DVD....

 

Just saw it today, and his voice was awesome! Who knew Dr. Claw was a decepticon?

 

I thought he was done very well and this sets him up for a much larger role in the third film. However, I will nitpick a little bit. Just minor nitpicks, such as the lack of the vocoder, him not being in robot mode at all and would it have been so hard to make him say "Ravage, eject. Operation, infiltration." when he launched Ravage?
