who here loves these movies like I do? I was looking at comments on a video about Rosie Huntington Whitley in Transformers 3, and all the comments were just saying bad stuff about Bay and how the movie is gonna suck

I don't hate the movies. I just don't think they're very good. Anyways, there are far more important and deserving things out in the world to direct my hate towards. :p
You loving the movie isn't a crime. In some respects I kinda envy people that seem to have managed to get a lot of enjoyment out of them.

I think you will find (like with ANYTHING) that there are people who love the movies and people who hate them. There are those who are somewhere in the middle too. It's just the ones that have the strongest opinions that usually speak out the most.

I like 'em plenty. I think there was even a thread/poll not long ago and a surprising amount of people said they liked them.

Not sure why people are hung up with using the word "hate" so often. The people who really hated the films, director, writers, artist, other fans, and all of that managed to get life time bans way back in 2007. All we have left is people who didn't like the film, were disappointed, didn't like some parts, or just not overall happy with the whole thing.

I generally stay out of the movie forum, but I saw this thread from the main page.

    I love the Transformers movies.
    Love them!

Back during Revenge of the Fallen there were about 3 or 4 polls a day dealing with whether people liked or disliked the movies.
The numbers were always overwhelmingly in favor of the movies, but the comments by the detractors far outweighed the votes cast in the negative.

According to the Sage known as Prowl, haters gonna hate.

I love them. I take them for what they are...simply fun summer popcorn flicks. It was seeing the 2007 movie at Botcon that sucked my heart to Transformers so how can I not love them?

Love them, but I like the original more than ROTF (especially after giving enough time for both to process). I have a feeling that DOTM will be better than ROTF, though.

I don't hate them either, The first film gave us a look at what if the transformers were real and gave them an original look.

The reason some people hate the films is because Bay just isn't perfect for this material. sure i think the TF movies are the best films he has done, but...well how come the Transformers are the C-Story in their own films. Ex. The first film has about 4 different story plots, Sam's, The Military, The Hackers, and the Transformers. the same goes for TF ROTF. they're always the c-story, this isn't like this is a Godzilla Movie where the monsters can't talk so the humans progress the story. Everyone knows that each robot has a personality, and can talk. so why aren't they story A.

thats why i'm excited for film three, bay promises a lot of robot driven storyline, and much more dialog between them.

so here's my scores for the films.

    Transformers: A-

Transformers ROTF: C- but a very watchable Guilty Pleasure

Transformers DOTM: Hopefully an A+ but we'll just have to wait and see.

The TFs are always story A. The hackers, the military, they're part of the Transformers' story. That's the main focus of those plotlines, discovering or facing the Transformers. The reason they don't get as much screen time as that stuff is simply because they're too expensive to take up that much time. Hopefully with advancements in CGI, budget and technical stuff I don't comprehend fully they can increase their screen time.

Indeed. People who have complaints about the movies generally talk about it more, while people who like them are just "yeah, they were cool."

    Me, too.

^^ I agree with those grades, generally. I hope DOTM isn't as dumb with its plot. The plot holes really jar you out of the experience, it does for me anyway.

For me, it was the dick jokes more than the plot holes.
It's like there was a dick joke every 8 minutes and most simply were not funny.
Hopefully the dick joke supervisor has been fired.

It's tough to know what the film will be like until it's done, but so far the things being said about Dark of the Moon seem to indicate that we will have a much better film than Revenge of the Fallen.

So maybe the question should be will Dark of the Moon be a better film than the first live action film?

I count... one dick joke in ROTF. Dickbot the Blender Guy.

For me it was the humping jokes. And they were pretty bad, too. When they happened it was the focus for that scene. No, bad.

Let me rephrase that and you can read into it as you will. Chiwawa's gonna bark.

I agree 100%. I can take it's imperfections, but ROTF just had too many dick jokes. And too much yelling when there weren't any explosions.

Personally speaking, the first movie is one of my all time favourite movies (not my number one favourite, that honour goes to Dog Soldiers), and while Revenge of the Fallen does have bad things about it, I still find it an enjoyable movie.

The humping and 'enemy scrotum' jokes don't really bother me, mostly because I have a rare genetic mutation which allows me to be completely unaffected by 'American Pie comedy' as I call it :lol
My only main criticisms are A) the Transformers don't get very much screen time or characterization unless their names are Optimus, Bumblebee or Megatron and B) the blatant disregards for continuity in both movies (soooo Bumblebee could talk in the end of the first movie but two years later he's mute again?).

Also, it kind of sucked that Barricade was just written out of the movie with no explanation as to what happened to him (okay he popped up again in the comics, but it would be nice to see him on the silver screen again). And it doesn't help matters that this trend may or may not be continuing in Dark of the Moon, with both Jolt and The Twins apparently being swept under the carpet, when they could very easily have been kept on and improved and developed as characters.
