Not sure if this is known yet, but BBTS just put up a preorder for Takara's AM-22 Dreadwing, and I think this is the first image we have of it and of his cool looking shark micron (that's totally a BW Depth Charge reference).

Seriously this mold screams "repaint". Someone at Hasbro or Takara please get on this!

The micron doesn't look half bad, but I was really hoping for a Sword and his underhand wielded BFG. If there is a Hasbro version, you know they're going to screw up the weapon in the worst way. Kinda bummed we're likely going to have to wait for Dr. Wu or someone else to make show accurate weapons.

I see no reason to purchase these over the Hasbro versions. The Microns are not even that great. Paint jobs are the same as well.

I would rather pay $20 in the store then $60 after shipping.

    That is just me though.

Not really-- we know for sure that he's gonna have a show-accurate sword, which we saw in the stock photos, and as for the gun, all it takes is some paint and a rubber band to solve most of the problems. Though I guess if folks are unwilling to make the effort, then I don't know what to tell them.

You have a good point, especially since Dreadwing isn't even one of the moulds that has people panicking over it not getting a US release-- we know for sure that it's in the next wave. Plus the paint job probably won't be so much "the same" as "reduced to the bare minimum and replaced with stickers".

Is it wrong that the first thing that came to mind was Sky-Byte?

First we've seen of Dreadwing? Are we discounting Bot Con? They had pics galore of this guy from various (superior) angles. In fact this Takara pic is pretty much a step backward from those. But maybe that's just me.

Wow. Never seen this guy. I only collect MP figures now but this guy is something I would buy just to play around with. It looks amazing.

That looks far too skinny for Dreadwing. I hope it's improperly transformed.

The blue made me immediately think Thundercracker. Hopefully Hasbro's release is darker with more yellow paint apps.

    The mold, however, looks fantastic.

Not unheard of, this is a show character but the resemblence is uncanny so thats just hedging your bets at a possible repaint.
