Why on earth did they have to make the Minicon in the fugliest color possible? Was blue-grey too expensive to mix?
Biggest disappointment of the whole line. Got my shipping notice from robot kingdom yesterday . Looks like i'll be picking up the hasbro version too
Honestly I think the only Takara figures that are that much better than the Hasbro versions are the Henkei and a few of the United figures. Everything else isn't that great. People tend to exaggerate about how much better Takara is.
Suddenly, I don't care about the Minicons anymore. Wow...what a huge let down. Well, my streak of not buying any Takara figures continues. God damn, I really thought the Arms Micron line was going to be the one. The only one I am waiting for, and still may strongly consider, is Bulkhead, possibly Soundwave.
I'm not one to buy up every figure from Japan when they had slightly better paint aps, but I liked having the option and I did get them on a few occasions when I thought the difference was bigger.This looks to be a thing of the past, at least for the Prime line. It really seems like Takara is trying to appeal to a different audience, more to the model building/customizing crowd.
That grill sticker is hilarious. Flat stickers pasted on top of molded detail are always great for a laugh.
$12 Hasbro Ratchet with more paint apps and no ugly tan plastic? Or $38 (before shipping) Takara Ratchet with ridiculous stickers, ugly remolded parts and an oversized sword minicon/targetmaster made of...wait for it...ugly tan plastic? Hmmm...
So glad Hasbros winning this race for once! Now I can love this line for 2 great reasons , awsome TV series , & AFFORDABLE FIGURES! ( chants ) USA USA USA!
...Still Hasbro should have finished the zig zag and the rear windows, that was just kind of a lazy omission. The figure looks pretty good though.
I think it was intentionally left off for robot mode accuracy, so he wouldn't have red lines across the front of his arms.
Hmm, maybe it doesn't really need all those stick- (look at photo of unstickered Ratchet) - HOLY CRAP IT's A GHOST!! Oh well, at least with the stickers it's- (look at side-by-side comparison photo) - ohh...
I honestly don't think there is a clear winner. They both have their ups and downs, so I'll buy both and mix and match to make the best Prime Ratchet. But that's just my opinion. I want that Micron.
