Probably the saddest one for me is Bumblebee as a new VW Beetle, it could've been so awesome...damn VW and their "Oh noes! I duhn wanna be associated with war!" idealogy. DN

VW wouldn't have agreed to it anyway even if Bumblebee was gun less (heck, we ever had a Bumblebee with a gun?), it was still associated with war, albeit a fictional one between two factions of alien robots that turned into realistic cars. You can blame Takara for that too, because they had a great deal of say in the Binaltech series, which influenced the Alternators. DN

I had wondered about the possibility of him being made if they had done him without a gun. I thought they made a prototype to show VW but they rejected it because of the gun. I could be wrong, it's been a while since I read about that. I just remember thinking that maybe VW would've approved it if Has/Tak had given him some sort of listening device for espionage instead of a gun.
They'd never make an Alt that would turn into a Delorean. Or a Citroen 2CV. Or a Model "T" Ford. Or even a Volga GAZ-24... And that makes me feel t3h forlorn.
Or a scanner like alt Windcharger. Personally I'd love to have Ironhide as some kind of SUV.. maybe Hummer. Part of the reason why I decided to preorder Road Bots is because we'll never see Hummer or Lambo as alts and I love those cars they are basing their alt modes on.
I know this is an "Ah crap!" type of thread, but I'm just happy Hasbro didn't decide to do their own version of Kiss Play. I'm very grateful for that. At least Alternators are going out with style.

I personally don't understand all this hate towards VW. It was a decision that they made, and we should respect that decision. Unlike Hasbro, VW isn't interested in what the TF fanbase wants, and we shouldn't expect them to. I'm also not someone that thinks that a specific make and model of an alt mode should stick with a TF character for the rest of time. Peace out.
