Bah. I got my new Alternator Optimus Prime this Monday and promptly opened him, only to find that there was nothing under the hood. No engine at all. I checked the instructions to make sure I wasn't just an idiot, and sure enough, that's where it's supposed to be. Nothing else was loose in the package. Just... no engine/gun.

Anyone else run into this? I'm going to see about getting an exchange from BBTS.

 

if u get an exchange for another Prime you will be waiting until the next shipment comes in though  

 

Oh jeez, I hope this isn't widespread...

 

I hate QC issues on an item that isn't easily replaced   Especially an entire missing piece... I mean, common!

I know there are scales all over the assembly line to weigh the boxes. If it's any bit off, there's either something missing or something extra.

I dunno, it just wasn't there. I even transformed him to make sure it wasn't hidden somewhere crazy inside him or something. It just wasn't there. Didn't appear to be anything extra either. As to losing the piece, it's not possible. The very first thing I did was pop open the hood to take a look inside, and I opened him on a clean table besides.

Oh well. BBTS is offering me to either ship it back and exchange it, or keep it as-is for a $20 store credit. I'm thinking of taking that and just ordering another one and attempting to kitbash this one into Ironhide.

 

Go for the second option, where you get that Prime free, and another one.
Don't turn down a free alt.

 

Mine had a gun so it may not be widespread.

(then again, my alt. Sunstreaker had two left fists, so who knows  )

I believe my alt Sideswipe's gun was in a little plastic baggie in the box... not under the hood. Same with my alt Swindle's...

 

So...in the case of your alt. Prime, where was the weapon stored?

 

Under the hood when it came out of the package. You really can't see too much of it from a head-on view when the hood is open (the engine kind of rests high). The only part of it you might be able to see is what eventually forms the handle of the weapon. To see more of the engine itself, look under the hood from either the right or left side of the truck.

 

My Alt Op also came with the engine/gun, although it did fall out the instant I opened the hood  

 

Shucks, that means I have no way of knowing if the weapon is missing just from looking at the package!?

 

I don't think there has been an Alternator out where you could see the weapon. Either the weapon has been under the hood or in a bag.

 

Just like no one had any way of seeing if their Ricochet had a gold nose or a white one... I believe there were a few ones bought with gold noses...
