I just received my Alternity Megatron [black version] from HLJ...turns out it *might* have a problem with the automorph mechanism.

The back end of the spine [where the legs are] "collapses" onto the body just well, but the front end [with the arms] took QUITE an effort, and even then, the torso panel that's supposed to slide down, hasn't! I've tried prying it open with a small knife but still, nothing.

Is he defective or is there a trick I'm not familiar with? Any replies would be appreciated.

PS: I'm talking about step 08 of the instruction manual.

It's been months since I transformed mine, so I'm not even sure what we're talking about, but I can tell you that when I did transform him there wasn't anything that stood out as being difficult. I remember it being a pretty smooth transformation.

I can check on mine when I get home from work and then St. Patty's drinks.. chances are good that I'll have some sort of trouble transforming him since I'll be drunk though.

Damn why didn't I see that before? That's exactly the problem with mine.

Got a blue one on the way and awaiting exchange\refund on the black one.
