    Alternity A-01 Convoy Released

Official release date is on Thursday (2/26) but it's possible that some Japanese stores have gotten their stock in early.

The Alternity packaging appears to be entirely plastic instead of cardboard with window and the instructions are in the form of a fold up sheet instead of booklet.

UPDATE: The owner of the figure is in Japan and Amazon.co.jp shipped his figures to him early. His review of the Ultimate Metal Silver edition with pics is now online.

Wow. I really dig the boxart. It is nice to keep MISB

Kinda disappointed that there's no booklet instruction manual

Nice... now if this guy can just get here I'll be a happy camper. Really digging the looks of him and I was on the fence for a while until the recent video review. The amount of engineering that went into this figure makes it more then worth the cost I think... not to mention the insane amount of diecast on the figure...

The instruction sheet has a story titled: "From Here to Alternity" (top right corner). I wonder if Hirofumi Ichikawa is writing it and if it's a continuation of the BT story. Probably is since the last few chapters of the BT story mentioned Alternity.

It's a pity they decided not to paint the hands silver on the Ultimate Metal Silver Convoy as shown in official images and box art. I think it looks better than black since the rest of the arm is already black.

I like the different approach for the packaging. I just hope I'm able to open it and re-insert the toy so it displays like it was never opened.

No fancy booklet/instructions? Kind of a downer for such an expensive line of figures :(

O well.. at least they, so far, seem to kick ass!

That's awesome. It makes me want to reconsider holding out for the black one.

That's almost a perfect figure (IMO).

    The box is hot too.

HOORAY!!! Finally... I hope BBTS gets there's soon, as I BADLY want this figure, I will also be getting the Megatron eventually... I'm getting red Convoy, silver just looks too un-primishly bland.

To clarify, is the silver model being marketed as Magnus story-wise, or no?

about the size of an average deluxe class. articulation like an alternator. amazing detail. very cool looking packaging. not sure what to think. for me the price seems a little high. I'd like to see these guys for $20 plus s/h.

One thing to bear in mind about the pricepoint- the transformation engineering and partscount looks a -lot- higher than an average deluxe. Sans diecast and minus a bunch of paint apps I think these would still be $25-$30 USD easily.

Licensing the GT-R design from Nissan probably adds a fair bit to the price tag as well, not to mention rising costs of materials and labor. I'm just happy the ¥MSRP isn't higher than what Binaltechs retailed for.
