06-08-08 UPDATE: I know this thread is some time old, but I finally shot and edited a proper gallery for this guy. You'll find the complete gallery in the same hyperlink provided in this thread:

A few months back, I posted this thread [I did finally go with the name "Wipe Out" (as the thread title suggests), but thanks to all of you guys who posted!]. The work at the time I did on this was solely the head (as the custom itself came from swampmojo [see sub-album in my Photobucket for more on that]. While his spray of black was really nice, he had given the custom to his nephew and some heavy play damage was present. I decided to go ahead and revisit the custom and give it a nice topcoat of black. I had went back and forth with the two-tone of black and gray and decided that I really just want it solid black anyways. Also, he had used Shockblast wheels and they rubbed hard against the fenders. Even the wheels that came with Windcharager/Decepticharge are problematic with the grill/leg transform. I decided to resolve that problem as well. Radio Shack had some XMod wheels and accessories on sale, so I thought I could at least see if they work. Sure enough, they are just a hair smaller than the wheels normally used for Alts and I think they'll work nicely.

well, now, that's an interesting picture. we've got some hot black vipers with nifty rims, a buncha blue subies with silver panels (which is what initially made me go ooh!) and most importantly, a picture of your work bench! everything looks good :thumb

Those wheels look tight on the S2000!...I'm going to have to go by my Radio Shack to see what they got....

And I'm intrigued by the appearance of yet another Smokestreak....hmmmm...

Yeah, it's an S2000 (cingular). Good eyes

Yeah, I was able to get 24 rims for $10 and a set of tires for them for $4. At regular price that lot would have cost me double than what I had paid for it.

    . . . and yes, another Impreza . . . hmm . . . mwhahaha! :ev:

    Finished!

Well, I was able to finish this guy up the other day. I'll apologize in advance for the snapshots (I've done better photography!). The XMod wheels to work really nicely and as planned they actually improve the transformation. I just wanted to take some quick snapshots of this guy just to illustrate what I ended up doing with him:

I ended up putting one top coat of black on him because the original custom paint job had some play wear and such. I also redid a few of the details just due to the same type of wear.

Also, here is a closeup of the modded head (formerly a Meister head) I made for him:

    Enjoy!

Thanks for all of the mad props guys! (sorry, ShawnL7, but he's not for sale  )

3T, most of my Alt customs are Decepticons because we got so few of them in the line (the line actually never originally intended to have Decepticons!).

The original 2-tone was a nice idea, but I really wanted just a slick, nice black paint job on him. I'm surprised I was able to pull it off with one coat! It went on really nicely the first time around though, but that was mainly due to the original black undercoat being so well done (and for that reason I hated to cover it, but due to the paint wear I really needed to).

Again, thanks for the comments guys :)

Very neat looking, dude. I like the black on him; the robot mode looks nice and classy, too. I like the custom head! Hell of a job all around. :)

When I opted for the solid black paint job, that was my goal: to just make this guy really nice looking. From you comment (and others), it seems I succeeded in that regard :D

I think you (and others) have noticed that I've really gotten into the head mods and such lately. During the semester, when I didn't have time to work on a full blown project I'd find myself working on a head or three :lol

This head is from a Meister that I cut the "horns" off as well as a section of the front vents on the side of his head. I sanded those down, and then I took the feet of one of those dollar store genero Primes and cut off parts for the antennae. Some superglue, paint, and a dremel to the neck socket later gave me a new head :D

Thanks a lot, myfs! I really appreciate that! There has been so much nice work by you, Ops_ and many of the rest of you lately! MAD props to you all! :thumb

Again, thanks for the comments and enjoy! :)
