Ok, so with the sentiment that's been floating around that the Alternators line is heading for a possible fade-away / merging with the movie line / whatever, it's got me thinking: which bots do we really need to complete the set?

The line is largely represented by the G1 84-85 Autobots, so who do you feel really needs to be in the line to create a good display and make you feel happy about the whole deal? Do you need more Decepticons? Bots from seasons 3 and 4? Enough car Decepticons to call them the Stunticons?

Personally, I'll continue buying Alternators as long as they continue making them, regardless fo whether or not they "run out" of characters, as long as I get some fluff in the form of a tech spec or something, but regardless...

Bumblebee - I don't even care about the alt mode as long as it fits and is yellow.
Brawn
Trailbreaker - call him Snugglebot for all I care, as long his alt mode has 4WD.

 

i never wanted Decepticons, and have been pretty dissapointed with all the wack ones like Dead End, Swindle and Ravage (Rumble looks good though, as long as he has hands)

That's a pretty solid list.
Brawn really needs some love. heck, Brawn and Trailbreaker could be a potential remold situation...

obviously, if BB comes out, we gotta get a Cliffjumper redeco/head swap...

Hot Rod would be the last 'icon' i can think of that seems like he deserves an Alt.

 

Ironhide for sure. Repaint of Skids wouldnt bother me but it would be cool to have a dedicated mold for him.

Brawn I think would be cool as an H3, he was a mini-bot anyway and I think it suits his original Land Rover look.

 

Something other than a car, truck, van, SUV, etc...

 

ummmmm..... that seems, maybe, a tad unlikely under the 'Alternators' line... i do hope MP03 might show up as a new price class of Military based Alts (proabbly with a different line name) that's as Decepticon-centric as alts are Autobot-centric...

 

I would like to see Ironhide, Ratchet, Trailbreaker, Hot Rod, Wildrider, Dragstrip, Breakdown, and Motormaster.

Who do we need? Hmmm. That's a tough question as it really only plays to the idea of who we'd really want to see. And since everyone has different ideas of what's needed, you're going to get alot of different answers.

Myself, I'd like to see the movie cars get made. (Blurr, Hot Rod, and Kup.) I'd also like to see a few more of the mini-bots get a good represntation. (Bumblebee, Cliffjumper and Tailgate) And I'd like to see some bigger trucks/SUV's get done since Japan doesn't seem to want to make BT's anymore. (like Inferno, Grapple and Trailbreaker)

 

I don't care. As long as they are new and cool and not a 3rd repaint of someone. I haven't bought a lot in Alternators recently because they've all been just repaints and remolds coming out here lately, of characters I don't really care about no less. I'm excited about Mirage because he's new. I love all Alternatos because it's awesome that they are so detailed. But I simply don't want to buy the same one 3 or 4 times. Make new guys, I'll buy them.

Would love to see more cons but there are not too many that fit with the whole car theme that are NEEDED IMO. I would love to see a Megatron, Starscream, and Soundwave of some sort, but I'm not seeing it.

 

BumbleBee - new VW Beetle or like what he will be the new movie

Brawn - Hummer 3

Soundwave with Laserbeak - some kind of street racer and Laserbeak as the sound system (its possible)

Megatron - Anything with a Really big gun

I'd really like to see a new mold Ironhide and a Skids repaint for Perceptor. I've given up hope on Alts though.

 

I'd like to see the following:

1) Ironhide - red re-paint of Alt Skids w/ same head
2) Ratchet - white re-paint of Alt Skids w/ new head mold and cherries
3) Trailbreaker - this one wouldn't be on this list if Alt Nemesis Prime wasn't a convention exclusive (all I would need to do is swap heads with Alt Swindle or Alt Rollbar)
4) Hoist - green re-paint of Alt Prime w/ same head

and finally...

5) a new Bumblebee / Cliffjumper mold (the Mini or Smart car - although, watch it be the new '06 Camaro to fit in with the upcoming movie)

The above list would account for most of the important Autobot characters from Seasons 1 & 2...

The only Decepticons I want to see tackeld are the Stunticons; just re-paint MP-3 six more times and that'll be enough Deceps for me (with the exception Of Megs)...

We need the top decepticons in there: Megatron, Starscream, Soundwave, etc.

Now obviously starscream gets a pass with the masterpeice coming out but hopefully that tank megs will come out and soundwave in some kind of alt mode. We need more original mold decepticons too whatever they be.

Actually, tomorrow I am spending the day working on some Alt design sketches for certain characters. However, none of them will be in current molds. They will all be new molds from car companies already Alternator approved. Already have Ironhide done.
