Well, it's finally finished! Been working on this puppy for a long time, thanks to having to wait for acceptable humidity, extra parts to make a second copy, etc. But I think it was all worth it. I owe special thanks to Deltastar for hooking me up with custom license plates with the airdate of the initial MTMTE three-parter on them.

I took a few liberties with layout of paint and a couple decals, such as the spoilers, since of course there's no such thing as a WRX police cruiser anywhere in the US, nevermind this particular jurisdiction. But we stayed as accurate as we could to their real cruisers, at the same time. I made sure the car got every marking that the admittedly very spartan originals get, and added an optional one as well.

    Here's a little teaser:

And here's where the rest of the images live. I'd use Imageshack, but they don't let you keep things organized well.

    Great work!

That's a really high quality custom, did he start life as Ricochet?

That is really impressive! The light bar seems like an odd shape though.

You've got to name him "Chip" instead of Prowl.

    Or maybe Ponch or John.

He certainly did! I was originally going to start from cheap clearanced WEC Smokescreens, but that didn;t work out. The plastic parts that were die-cast on the Binaltech version were made of a plastic that would NOT take the black dye thoroughly, even though the parts that are plastic on both would do so. Eventually, Ricochet hit the market, and the Smokescreen plan was ditched since this version had the proper base plastic color already provided.

It's different from the more common ones of today, true. Most of the common ones these days tend to be the "V" configuration. We couldn't be sure the necessary mounting points for that one would all be able to be properly set into this roof piece though, and it seemed like those would have looked a bit too "covering" over the roof. The mounting pegs for the bar are actually heat-fused to the underside of the roof.

    E-heh. :drunk

That is a very nice piece! I'm curious as to what you used for the brush guard and any other add-ons you made to give the piece a more realistic feel. Again, nice work!

The pushbars and lightbars are from police modeling sites, which can provide them "ready to go" with lenses of your chosen color pre-attached so you just need to specify colors, style, and color layouts. The decals are from another site of the same type, are waterslide style, and are designed for 1/24-1/25 scale cars. Seems you can actually buy die-cast police cruiser model cars with the right basics, then just paint as needed, apply lights, antennas, and pushbars, and decals, and seal to make a model of your chosen car.

Thanks! :D  I was VERY pleased with the results in person, too. I try to make my work a notch better every time around. And anyone here going to BotCon should be seeing this in the 3D category unless something prevents my displaying it. I have a nice display case made from a big plexi ballotbox I found at Officemax all ready to roll.

Huh? It's right in the first post I made to start the thread. There's the one teaser pic, and you need to follow the link to the rest of the pics. I can't put them all in the thread (post only allows ten pics, and I already had a reply when I looked at editing it to embed all the pics directly), and there are 16 pics total.

I'm glad everyone likes them. If anyone hasn't noticed, the pics actually involve *both* copies, with the robot mode pics being my copy and the vehicle mode pics being the copy done for the friend who suggested the idea and asked me to do it. You can tell by the pushbar lights.
