I finally took a couple of photos of my newest custom, Streetwise. I've had this guy on the list of planned customs for over 5 months, but it wasn't until recently that Alt Meister has become abundantly available (my Wal*mart has 4 of them right now). I wanted to go with a Japanese police deco for him (like Bt Prowl and Bt* Alert). The release of the smaller "Autolooper" set made me want to make this custom even more. I think the funny thing is that the very minute that I finished editing these photos we see the announcement of the 1:24 scale "Autolooper." For nearly 5 months now I've had this clear vision that I wanted a RX-8 with a Japanese police deco. Hopefully, Streetwise will get some backup once "Autolooper" becomes available.

Anyways, I present Alt Streetwise to you guys (special thanks to Nevermore for assistance with finding the kanji for the doors):

Very, very nice. I really like the level of detail on the bot mode! The tighs especially are nicely painted.

The alt mode really works too. Very clean.

How hard was it to take out the visor?

Hey man, thanks for the feedback! One of the things that I really had fun with this guy was trying to pull out all of the detail. Alts have so many nice little details within the sculpts, and it's a shame that the paint apps don't pull them out.

The visor was pretty easy to remove. Just unscrew the head and pop it off.

I also meant to post a link to another thread concerning this guy.

Nice! Streetwise was always my favorite Protectobot, and Jazz my favorite Alternator mold (and G1 car besides Sideswipe and Prowl). Seeing customs like this make me wish Hasbro or Takara would make an Alternators gestalt someday -yeah, it'd never happen, but one can dream.

Hey thanks for the feedback! While I don't have any intentions of making gestalts, I have been making teams and gangs out of my Alternators (click my sig to see the rest of my Cybertronian Police force and my Seekers, each in their own galleries, and you'll find the Stunticons [sans Motormaster, but we'll see what the future holds] if you include "Decepticharge" (Drag Strip) and Dead End that were officially released by Hasbro).

Wow that looks great. If the new full-sized Autorooper looks anything like that then I'm all for it.

Hey guys, thanks for all of the positive feedback; I really appreciate it!

I've had this clear vision for a while (nearly 5 months) to make a RX-8 Alt custom into a Japanese police car. I've had a spare Meister for some time now, but I wasn't sure if I wanted to make my only spare Meister into this project (I've got more ideas in store for the RX-8, hehe).

After I made my Alt Runabout, I had a spare light bar left over from the Prowl I used. I then taped it to Meister just to remind me of my desire for the project.

Meister then became subject to what happened to Tracks once he was rereleased in the 'bubble box' (i.e. shelfwarmer). I stumbled upon one at Walmart for $15. By this time, the "Autolooper" had been developed by Takara. I think the major difference (other than the head sculpt for "Autolooper") is that I wanted to go all the way in making the Japanese kanji for the sides of the doors.

I've had this guy essentially finished for a week now. I really hadn't had the time to even shoot a couple of photos until last night. I still just think it's funny that I post this at the same time we get an announcement for a 1:24 "Autolooper." I still think someone from Takaratomy hacked my harddrive (I've got 'sketch' files of all of my projects in some form or another). :lol

I see a lot of emphasis on "Autolooper" but the official name as dumb as it sounds as confirmed by the in package shots of the WST version is "Autorooper". :p

    Still a great custom though.

Heh, Autolooper or Autorooper, they're both dumb (I was thinking an official name hasn't been settled upon yet). And my custom doesn't have teenie bio mecha either (or porno packaging for that matter). :rolleyes2
