Thanks to all who suggested this creepy custom. :ev:

I know this is not for everyone......but I do appreciate the honest comments from those who actually do their own customs.

Rock on man, ROCK ON! Damaged Alts FTW!!!

I do think this one is my favorite! I really like all of the treatment you've given him. Zombie? Eh, I think he looks more like he tried to bite off more than he could chew.

One thing I do think would look really cool is if you could put at least one eye bulb lit up (not necessarily actually lit with a light, but painted or such to produce the effect). With damaged bots, I always think it looks cool when the eyeglasses are busted out, and the eyebulbs are exposed and are glowing :thumb

    Keep em, coming man! :thumb

    ( . . . and do 'em all!!)

    YEEAAAHH !

Thanks bro, I actually tried the bulb/eye thing (Radio Shack zipzaps headlights) but it was too big, looked good where a smashed out headlight was though !
If you look closely at his left hand (3rd pic) you can see 2 finger tips got snipped.

    THANKS AGAIN SQ7 !

Hey, man, my pleasure! Thanks for sharing your work!

Yeah, I'd think you'd be better off trying to use paint something like that in (and maybe use some sort of very small part to insert to paint) as opposed to actually put in a LED light (which would rock if you could).

I haven't mentioned this either, but golly that process sure looks fun! It's one thing to bash up a bot in order to produce a "new" bot, but to 'bash him up to bash . . . I mean I know that there is a lot of painstaking detail that you're having to do, but it's noticable that you're doing some demolishing there to.

In that vein of though, would you care to talk about your process some? I'm sure it would be very imformative. :D

I'd be interested to know also. Looks like an attack from a soldering iron, coarse sandpaper and something sharp I'd guess, but a 'photo diary' of the next ones decent into zombie-hood would be awesome

    Regards

I think the interesting thing about these damaged customs of yours is that, even though you're essentially ruining the figures, you also make them look more metal/realistic in the process. It's a cool effect for sure

edit - this is my 1337th post :lol

    That's... Damn
I don't know why, but the damaged/destroyed customs people have been doing lately fascinate me.

    Excellent work!

that's pretty darn sweet looking, he sort of looks like he's had a photoshop scraggle filter applied to him. Might have to try a damage fig myself soon...

    Hey thanks to all !
Wasnt sure how slammed I'd get for doing this :throw  .....so far so good !

Glad you all like it, to answer a couple of Q's:

I think a photo diary or a "how to...." would be a great idea(sauldering gun & sandpaper are not required), I will work on it just not right away, I want to concentrate mostly on my upcoming Alt. repaints while/when the weather is good, my job is gonna be BUSY throughout the summer so I can only chip away at these maybe 2 days a week(I have a lot of pets as well).

As for Alt. mode its pretty much at you're own risk, if you handle these things too much you'll be doing some touch up work & what-not.
I always build these for bot mode as that is the best for display - I think.
So, yes they can transform but it would be a headache, I avoid it like the plauge....or just don't even bother.

    Yep, it's for sale ! :p

Thanks again to all ! ! ! :rock
