I mentioned that I am updating the graphics of my Alternators police customs this year.








Here are a few quick and dirty digibashes and their past counterparts that I created around October 05 in evaluating this redeco:

There are a few planned design decisions I've made since then (as in not making the badge so large on HP as seen in the digibash). Basically, the two submitted designs are the same; I'm looking for opinions on the names "CYBERTRONIAN POLICE" and "IACON CITY POLICE." What do you guys think?

while I think I actually like the older style better, from your two new ones, I'd definitely go with the iacon city labels.

Thanks, vector! Hot Pursuit was my first custom ever and Stakeout was one of my firsts as well! I wanted to update their graphics (and give Interceptor his first) as a 2yr kitbashing anniversary present to myself (the end of Janurary marks 2 yrs for me   )

Well for me, after rounds and rounds of battle to the death about CHiP's.  I would have to surrender and finally agree with you. My vote is for Iacon Police Department.

 

It is perfectly fine to be in a frenzy over your plastic crack fix.  

 

I definitely say go with "Iacon City," but that baby blue is too bright IMO. A darker shade of blue would look better I think.

 

Well, the blue will be different actually printed. That's just my quick, crummy digibash work shining through  

 

Funny, I heard a line similar to that in a movie. Not going to say what kind of movie it was. ;-)

Allan, honestly, I prefer the original graphics. They appear smoother and I like them better. The newer graphics just don't look right to me. I'd rather see something else in the original style besides Cybertronian Police, or Iacon City Police. Maybe Cybertron S.W.A.T? Just my two pesos.

Just a suggestion, but why not do some work with Hot Pursuit's head and maybe add a helmet with a S.W.A.T type visor?

 

As for the graphics themselves, I just thought the Arial graphics were a bit plain looking. They were getting a bit shabby too, so I had to strip 'em. Right now, all 3 of my bots have no police graphics on them.

Well, my police bots aren't SWAT officers; they're interceptors (the ones that stakeout to catch the speeders on a hot pursuit. [puns intended  ]

With that in mind, a visor for HP would not be indicitative to his character and purpose. Maybe down the line I'll make a SWAT bot.   If I decide to make one of those, I'd definately consider the visor.
