Well, I think by now (if there ever was any doubt) it's clear of my affinity for police car Transformers. Continuing in that vein, I present another of my Japanese "Prefecture Police" squad Autobots. I named this guy "OUTRUN" (and I renamed my "Autorooper" into "OVERRIDE") for his pursuit capabilities. The modifications I made to this guy were the kanji on the side and the custom head. The rest of this bot is a Autorooper (I got this Autorooper as a headless bot in a trade with board member LiquiD). The head is custom-modded from one of Dollar Store "Robot Masters" Optimus Prime toys. [Oddly enough, the same toy lent his foot for Alternators Streetwise's antennae.] I made the "ears" from two of those rubbery Zoids caps (I think they go on joints or something; I'm no Zoids expert). The inside of the head is mostly hollow, so I filled it with putty and superglue and then shaped a hole for the neckjoint to custom fit. I cut the nose to make a "visor," cut off the side antennae, and shaved down the head vent (and added putty to fill the hole) to make it look different as well. Then, of course, I painted all of it Without further babble from me, here he is: alt mode photos: robot mode photos: . . . and a close-up head shot: I really wanted to create a head design that was similar to "OVERRIDE" but that was different in his own right. I think I succeeded I hope you guys enjoy!
Thanks matt! . . . and just for my buddy Nemesis Predaking: "What the --?" "Outta the ways, bots!" "You punk! You are ruining out photo shoot!" "Don't mess with the best"
Wow, that kicks ass! I like how the change is subtle, yet noticeable (if that makes any sense)., and how it's far more defined than Autrooper's original head (a big issue I had with it before). It also looks like a minor upgrade to the Autrooper drone - like an Autorooper Kai of sorts ala Gundam . Nice job!
No, Override (which is my renamed "Autorooper") only has the custom kanji I made for him; this guy is an Autorooper with a custom head; Alternators Backstreet oginally an Alt Meister that I striped off and customized. If the difference is hard to tell, then I've done my job That makes perfect sense. As with my response to ckhtiger, that was my intention. The main differences with Backstreet are the additions Autorooper came with (front license plate, Prefecture Police seal [but I made a custom label for Backstreet; it's just not a raised object], front police lights, and the RHD [which bums me out some *sigh*). Thanks for all of the comments! My goal was to make him to be an equal of sorts in terms of design. Your observations and opinions mean a LOT in this area. The story I have for these guys is that Override (AR) and Outrun are "twin brothers" of sort along with Backstreet being their "younger brother" (rookie bot would be a bit more accurate). Override (as his namesake implies) is sort of the leader of the pack, often times "overriding" Prowls orders so he can advance in rank a bit. Outrun constantly keeps Override in check (and out of trouble) and is a bit more loyal to Prowl (as he is more "by the book"). Backstreet (as I said) is the "rookie" of the three, often times getting into trouble with mischief. Fortunately for Backstreet, his two older "brothers" keep him in check. Also, Backstreet is good friends with Alert, who is the youngest of the squad and often wanders off from the rest of the squad. Again, thank you guys so much for your comments and interacting with my work! I'm always glad to share
Wicked! Wow, now you have your own Police Force for both the States and Japan. Next is the European police. Hey, don't you give the FD (Fire Department) any love? Where is an Inferno, Hotspot or even Red Alert? Gah...
Yep, I've been really working on making this Japanese "Prefecture Police" squad. I don't think I'll be making any European police though. As for the Fire Dept., I have something up my sleeve /*spolier alert*
Alan my friend, your work never ceases to impress. By the way, your special custom will be shipped out on Fri.
Nay, but as you know, SQ7, I do have a European police deco on the table now. I just hope I can actually do what I am imagining and life calms down enough to work on it soon ... and I reclaim my work space [read: my garage] from all of the storage in it. As always, mate, slick work. Absolutely slick work.
Yup, and I can't wait to see it finished! Whatever will you make it from? ^_^ I'll just be glad to see some work from you again, buddy Thanks for responding guys!
you know this already, but I really dig the job you did on that head hehehe. Can't wait for you to get to show the rest of your stuffs.
Thanks for the props man; I really appreciate it! I'm glad the head has been receieved really well too . . . as for the rest of my work, you (and the rest of you guys) won't have to wait too long Thank you all very much for all of your interaction; it's always VERY much appreciated
I doubt there's any Alt mould that in use as a police car in Europe, but I could be wrong (there are hundreds of diff. cars)... but I just don't see any from the Alt. range in there. But else great work ! and they all look really slick
