so i picked up my first two alternators today from my local comic book/ toy store and i must say i am very impressed. I have had my eye on these guys for quite some time and finally decided to purchase them. i bought rollbar and battle ravage, they had about 6 other alternators and im deffinetly going to pick a few more up, i had no idea they were so huge when transformed and a bit difficult to transform as well.

I got both of them for about 40 bucks which i thought was a good deal and rollbar was misb so i broke him out of his plastic prison. i really like his head sculpt, the only gripe i have with him is how small his gun is, it almost looks to small for how big he is but still looks cool. battle ravage is sweet too, he took me a bit longer to transform because when i was reading the instructions on how to transform him, it looked like you were suppose to pull out his legs when in fact they were folded up in there pretty good as im sure some of you know who own him. anyway im very satisfied with my purchase and just thought i would share my excitement. i will deffinetly grab some more of these guys. any of them that you guys want to recomend? i am still looking at some others i can grab off ebay, i think im going to get shockblast(shockwave) next.

    Alternators are definately cool.

I like them because they pay homage to G1.

You should check out the Junkion Exchange for good deals on Alternators from other board members... it may be cheaper than buying them on eBay.

I recommend buying them all if you have the means to, but on top of your list should be Mirage IMO.

Alternators are the best line of Transformers next to the Masterpieces. I wish Hasbro would bring them back, but not expecting it to happen. My favorites are Tracks and Mirage.

BTW if you think Rollbar's gun is small, you should see Skids' puny weapon.

Alternators are my favorite transformers besides Masterpiece and Classics... well ROTF is okay too at the moment. But I don't get pumped up for the movie toys like I do M/A/C, because I'm a hardcore G1 fan, so Alts and Masterpiece are the ones that really satisfy my plastic crack addiction. A lot of people criticise that they have too complex of transformations...but I like them a whole lot. I sometimes feel I am not satisfied with a transformation unless I'm transforming a Masterpiece or Alternator.

I only have 3 Alt/Binaltechs to pick up and then my collection is complete. I just need Wheeljack, Sideswipe, and Windcharger and I'm done.

I'm not a big fan of them, I have a few, but their kibble is insane in my opinion. Still, I do love Nemesis Prime.

You absolutely neeeeed the Mazda RX-8 mold.

The Ford GT and Ford Mustang are good but expensive

Prime/Nemesis Prime is pretty good, too.

I'll cut you a deal on a broken Rumble (ask me for details) if you PM me /plug

Ravage (Jaguar XK) is another good one

You're about to embark on an awesome journey. Although I like nearly every incarnation of TFs, Alternators are like someone took the best parts of G1 and added 20 years of engineering advancements.

    Have fun!

They are so awesome that I had over 100 of them at one point. The next 2 you should get are Jaguar Ravage, and Mirage. If you're going to start collecting these guys, I hope you have deep pockets. Also, don't pay $100 for Swerve. He's really not that rare. Camshaft is actually harder to find, and he usually costs less. This is, in my opinion, the best line of Tf's ever. Enjoy

I agree. Alternators and Masterpiece are my two favorite lines. They just have too much win in them. Even the below average quality, for their line, figures are a lot better than most everything else from other lines.

To echo the sentiments of almost everybody else in this thread: BEST LINE EVER! I got lucky and got complete Alt line and am slowly piecing together the BTs that didn't get the Alt treatment, the only line(s) I've ever been a completionist with but well worth it.

    Welcome to the club
