Just wondering if anyone has attempted to remove all the crappy "Scion" and flame decals that pollute Alt Skids, and if so, were you successful?

I *want* to buy this character simply because he's one of the G1 Autobots, but I just can't bring myself to do it when he looks so horrible. Someone suggested just peeling the decals off, but obviously I'm concerned that that's easier said than done. I don't want to buy this thing and attempt to peel the stuff off only to find out it's pretty much apart of the plastic.

If anyone has any experience or advice in doing this, PLEASE let me know.

    Thanks kindly.

It's not a decal. There's nothing to peel off.

Soaking in rubbing alcohol for about 45 min to an hour will make the paint slushy, then it can be rubbed off with a soft rag or cotton swab.

You'll probably want to take the toy apart and only soak the parts with the flames on it as the alcohol will ruin any other paint.

Regardless of the paint job, I'd highly recommend getting Alt. Skids. He's one of the best in the line and has an awesome transformation.

I like the flames. They really give Skids the impression of being the class nerd who's trying desperately to be cool, yet failing miserably.

That's what I was thinking too, plus they look pretty good on him in bot mode.

well, you could always get BT skids. He is a pretty close color match to the original G1 skids and even comes with some stickers that look spot on to the originals stickers.

Thats what I did. I'd rather have Skids look like his G1 self.

Simple Green. Take him apart, soak the part in Simple Green for about a half an hour, then rub them off.

    Fixed :D .

Though I can't see the point in having two Skids.

I don't mind the flames. It's the stupid window tinting that I don't like.

Can't you just swab them off with some q-tips/cotton balls dipped in Isopropyl?

That's how I got the flames off Ricochet, was pretty easy.

I second this. If someone has a good method for fixing that I'll finally be able to not talk myself out of getting him.
