Was discussing with one of the mods about posting this here. Some of you might have seen it from Transtopia before. Anyway, its quite an old custom but here are some new pics

EDIT: I forgot to mention that this was my first attempt at a dye job. Most of the black parts (Shoulders & Chest) have been dyed black to prevent from paint chips. I'm quite happy with the results as I can fiddle around with him without worrying about paint chips specially at the shoulder areas.

Also this was painted with Tamiya spray cans. The blue is "Mica Blue". The head is based on Sideswipe's head with sculpting using Tamiya's epoxy putty.

Wow that looks great dude. That head is perfect and when you factor in the flawless paint job this bot looks factory fresh. Very sweet. Is that a human alliance BB and Shia pictured with Speed Breaker? If it is, I didn't realize that the Alternators and HA lines are so close in scale to each other. That's pretty cool too. I need to get one of those HA figures, they're awesome.

Yes that is FLAWLESS. Did you do any sanding to it before the paint?

btw, the head sculpt is interesting and unique and the detail put into it is amazing. Kudos.

Okay, I love Alternators customs, but I had no idea who the hell Sideburn was. OH RiD, no wonder. :p  Anyway, after a little browsing around, man, that head sculpt is DEAD ON, totally made the robot. Great colours too!! I'm kind of new to customizing techniques, how do you dye a piece?

It's always been one of my favorites, too. It continues to inspire me to this very day. The head sculpt alone continues to fuel me to want to make one for myself. :)

    RiD Forever!

As for dying, we have a tutorial on that *points to Tutorials to the right*
