Finally finished this beast, he was one hell of a challenge. This was commissioned by Grand Maximus, who wanted to see Mirage as a 1960's Porsche Carrera. It started as Windcharger, which was originally a Honda S2000, and was quite a bit larger than the model kit shelled over it. I basically had to scrap the entire lower half below the waist, and ended up grafting parts from classics Prowl for the legs. Probably the most difficult thing about these projects is keeping the body aligned once you reattach it. I'm pretty happy for my first time out, though I'm not the best at it, so please go easy on me. I painted it using Testors enamels, custom decals by Boggs6ft7.
I think it can out good and the fact that you where able to mix alternator and classics parts and make the diffrent scales look great together says something about your skills!
oho yes, quite nice. when i scrolled down i was expecting the formula one car. then the hammer dropped on me. oh so sweet. i cant imagine how tough this must be.
oh and one more thing for a first reshell its dang near perfect in alt mode, cant wait to see how good your 2nd reshell looks like!
excellent work, especially the used of Classic Prowl legs.. I like the Porsche color too.. very cool!!!
This is extremely beautiful. The colours are beautiful, the details are beautiful. Right proportions, decals location, everything. You smoked this right out of the ballpark. May I venture a guess, a Porsche 912?
That is f#ck'n nice! For a first-time resheller, You've done a great job at keeping the panels aligned in alt-mode (mine would have probably ended-up in the bin... ). The Classics Prowl legs proportionally work pretty well & that paintjob brings it all together. Great Job Mate!
ya beat me by a day great job here. I am surpirsed by the choice of vehicle and sourcebot, but not the quality
Wow! Choice of vehicle mode is totally out of left field...and it's cool! Everything looks like it's a great fit! I really like this.
It's a Porsche 356 Carrera Oooohhhhh....1 more day? Yay!!! I had wanted to do old cars but not necessarily American muscle cars. I liked the lines of the Porsche and since Mirage is so vain with his looks, I figure give him a classic clean look. And.....great job JB. I don't think anyone will believe that this is your first re-shell. I think you pretty much hit a grand slam!! One thing though, was /is there supposed to be lenses where the front bumper is? The 2 holes underneath the head lights?
First time?!!....wow. This really came out nice. As others have mentioned, it's a seamless blend of Classics and Alternator. He looks very cool. Love the paint work, and Boggs, those decals look good too Can we get some back shots?....or maybe even a TF sequence?
I love it. The robot mode feels like a toy from today, but the vehicle mode makes it look like an old model car from yesteryear. You didn't just make him a transformer - you made him a time machine. ~Z
Thanks everyone! I just noticed that too, I got sidetracked looking for those (they're tiny) and forgot about em. They will be on before he knocks on your door.
Of course! Not sporty enough to be in the elite 911 series. Man, I love this custom, I wish I was clever enough!
