Uh... It's been out a while now and it's available anywhere that sells Alts right now, but it is a little hard to find. Part of finding him is luck

Got mine at Wal-mart before Thanksgiving, buried in the back of the shelf under a few Tracks.

I actually saw Alt Prime several times. Got one for my bro and myself. Now I don't see it anywhere. Only pegwarmers like Richochet, Sunstreaker, and Rollbar remain.

At this point your best bet is probably going to be either ebay, or trying to ask for one in the wanted section of these boards.

With the return of Alts at my local WMs, I'm starting to see new shipments of Alt. Prime. Be patient.

Yes, Jazz was called Meister in Japan during "G1".

Yep. He was called Meister because Mazda didn't want the name of a brand that Honda was putting out associated with their own brand, and also apparently Aaron Archer was tired of calling them all "Autobot whatever", since Hasbro can't use the name Jazz at that time. I think they might also have been holding out in case they could get the proposed Porche Alternator made and call that Jazz.

Hasbro CAN use the name "Jazz". If they couldn't, they couldn't use "Autobot Jazz" either. Otherwise Bandai could release "Megazord Optimus Prime" tomorrow. ;)

Hasbro just can't DEFEND IT IN COURT, which is what they want - DISTINCTIVE names. EVERYONE could call a toy "car", but they can't claim EXCLUSIVE rights to that name. Now, "AUTOBOT JAZZ", that is something Hasbro can claim exclusive rights to, since they already have "Autobot". Like Mattel could, say, release "Hott Rodd Car", because they own "Hott Rodd" (but "car" is too generic by itself).

According to Hirofumi Ichikawa, the reason for "Meister" instead of "Autobot Jazz" was NOT because of Mazda. Rather, Hasbro were apparently still hoping to get permission from Porsche for the old 986 prototype, which they would ultimately never get. And of course, then there's Archer and his "three 'Autobot someone' toys in a row are redundant" story. :)

He was pretty easy to find in the UK - Pity he turned out to be so craptacular IMO. I stuffed him right to the back of the shelf within an hour of getting him.
