Black Mustang w/white pinstripes. Robot parts will be teal with a conservative use of gold instead of brown. Will combine the roof and undercarriage into a shield and make room for the back cannons as a result.

Maybe a couple of days left to go, who knows. It's taking longer than I thought. It was only supposed to be a weekend project!!

are the guns going to peg onto the shoulders? that'd be awesome. Cool and original choice of character for an Alternators custom. love those stripes, too!

Came up with two ideas for shields. The first is to simply use the roof, and the other combines the roof and the undercarriage. The latter is too heavy for the ball joint in the elbow, so it may need to be shoulder mounted or something.

Did make it so that the handle folds up and out of the way, so I can make additional modifications if needed.

what about JUST the undercarriage? that's the piece that looks out of place in bot mode, afterall...

A couple of reasons, actually: for color placement, I want to use the roof as the shield. Also, I want to use the dashboard as the mount for the cannons, so the roof needs to come off anyway.

I might could do something else with the undercarriage. Dunno yet.

I figured you'd just peg them in to the black plastic of the shoulders that is covered by the windshield in car mode, but is not covered in bot mode. there's plenty of room there, in fact most soundwave customs plug in their shoulder cannons in there.

I specifically want to mount them on the dashboard so that they can stick straight up or be leveled forward on either side of the head.

As for the undercarriage... I've looked at it many, many times with the idea of making some sort of shield from it. The problem with it is that it has virtually no clearance on either side in vehicle mode to put a handle on :-/

sucks about the kibble. but the launchers, you confuse me. I have plowking's Soundwave, and the launcher pegs right behind the head where I said before, and it has a swivel so it can point straight up, or be leveled beside the head. doesn't need anything removed to fit, and its a really big gun.

clay, you've got another winner on your hands! Perhaps I'm just biased in a lot of different ways towards your work though. :)

I'd echo what has been said about the mounts for the launchers though. They can fit in the same location as the Smokescreen GT style launchers and pivot directly upwards.

Regardless of the solutions you come up with, I'd say I'll still be a fan :thumb

Here's what I came up with. I borrowed the idea from the original control sketch and cut the plate in half. I then installed a swiveling piece of plastic on both plates, and they pin into the sides of the waist.

The sword and the front of the car holds the plate together, as well as some pins I put into the back of the waist (where the plate normally connects).
