These images show the Voyager class figures in a Leader Class type box and in robot mode, different from the previous release of the figures in a wider box featured in their alternate modes.

No other details on the figures is available at the time of posting.

You can view the original listings for these figures here and here.

packaging looks pretty cool and sorry if this is old I havnt seen it before

I like box like that better.

You can check out the paint apps alot easier.

Why can't they package them all like this? You get to see the characters represented as who they really are than just a vehicle.

The main thing I always hope for is good paint apps on the heads. This way I can easily check for them.

Plus, if they were packaged in robot mode than closed up in vehicle mode, you'd have a much easier time checking the figures to see that they have all the correct parts and all the areas painted (be it painted at all, & painted neatly). No two left hands, no missing heads, no missing paint applications, no messy paint.

To add to that, because of these very reasons^, I'd be much more inclined to buy more Transformers figures because then I could actually see what I was buying, and feel MUCH more confident in my purchase, especially since how hit or miss the quality of Transformers has been in the past couple of years.

I hope they repeat this with the ROTF figures. I honestly do.

I prefer figures packaged in robot mode too. I want the alt mode to be some kind of surprise.

My main problem with Transformers being packaged in robot mode is with ones that have a lot of panels.
I find the transformation to vehicle mode to normally be hardest, so I like to see how it's supposed to look before I start messing up.

Checking the paint apps is really the only plus I see for those that open they're transformers.
    Really?
Most alt modes are supposed to be disguises, so why would they be the surprises?
Especially since the robot head is normally hidden in alt mode.

There should be pictures of both modes on the box anyway.

I fully support this, for two reasons. Animated is character based and the robots sell the toys not the vehicles as Hasbro's marketing dept seems to think. Secondly, standardised robot mode packaging has done wonders for the movie & animated leader figures. Thanks to that we have a bunch or robots more or less the same size that turn into vastly differently sized vehicles without wasting package space. There's no reason to think this couldn't work for animated voyager's and their space wastage is something that should have become apparent by now what with all the comments on how small some animated voyager's look in their packaging.

Nice. I just wish they'd also make a running change to color faction emblems rather than silver and gold.

If they make a Blitzwing in this packaging, I'll get one to keep MISB since I never bothered getting an MISB one in its O.G. package.

Cool. I'd love to see this packaging in stores, I know it'd get much more eye time than just another truck/car/jet.

Look much better I must say, it's more attractive like this. Though it'll probably be only for voyager size and up, I'd like them to try to put a Lockdown in robot mode on the card bubble :p

Nothing a couple of twisted legs couldn't fix, but then you might as well just put him in car mode...

I like this new style. I mostly keep my 'formers in robot mode anyways, so this format of pakaging because it'll show me what I'll be looking at most of the time.

Until you get to guys like Bulkhead and Lugnut, who fill there packaging okay as it is but would look ridiculous if they were packaged in bot mode (or Lockdown, who might not even fit in a deluxe bubble). I don't really see a problem with varying it and just having them packaged in whatever mode works best individually.

You can finally see if your starscream/clone has a head before you buy it.

Recognition is a big deal to Hasbro for a cartoon-based toyline, maybe this is a test run to see if the figures sell better when kids can see the toy really looks like the characters. After all Transformers are the only action figures to not be displayed as action figures in the store. Maybe this is the beginning of a change in direction.
