Swoop was worked on concurrently with Starscream, and as you can see, share very much in common. Yet, somehow they remain quite unique.

Swoop's head also started as a Mirage head, with a great deal of it removed, and then a new helmet and crest were built from styrene. The crest actually rotates straight up so that it rests between his arms in vehicle mode! Also added were two winglet door extensions for Swoop's robot mode, they fold in against the doors in vehicle mode. Finally, a G1-styled sword was scratchbuilt from more styrene.

The main color is the same Tamiya Light Gunmetal as Starscream, and the red is Testors Guards red. The stripes were done in silver, giving Swoop an actual factory color scheme for the GT. Unfortunatly, I can not make silver decals, so the smaller stripes had to be done with hobby striping, which also means no "Ford GT" logo on the doors. The sword blade is done in clear red over silver, and the gold accents are clear yellow over gold.

As today, this is my favorite alternator custom. It is well executed and the paint job really kicks ass. But the main reason that he's my favorite is basically because of the choice of caracter and how brilliant he came out. As an alternator, Swoop could'nt have gotten a better treatment.

Thanks! That's pretty much how the owner feels too!

Yep, like Starscream, I feel the head really makes the character. It was pretty amazing when they were both still in Mirage colors, with mostly white styrene heads that they already just...felt like Swoop and Starscream. The paintjobs just cemented it.

Thanks again to everyone else for the kind words too!

Hasbro needs to hire whoever made this FAST!

I'd definitely buy two of these if they were released. :)  Great work!

Wow, your translation of Swoop with a car for an alt mode is PERFECT.
