This mostly goes out to those who, like me, have been picking up some of the BTs, particularly those not available in an Alternators version. I have, for example, Yellow Tracks, Zoom Zoom, Blue Prowl, BT* Alert, and BT* Broadblast, but no other BTs.
My dilemna has to do with Skids. From what I can tell from various reviews, The BT is a slightly different color (a lighter blue), and comes with a different sticker set. So, is the BT different enough to justify the purchase for you, or is it still similar enough that it's more 'meh?'

Personally I like the BT version a LOT more, it does not have the ugly decal set and window paint that the Alt version has and the stickers that it comes with make it look more like the G1 Skids

BT is the way to go for that one. The Alt. version looks terrible.

Personally, I love the Alt. deco. The flame decals break up that solid blue quite nicely.

BT Skids all the way. When I first saw the decals for the Alternators version I almost puked. The BT comes with G1 type stickers, blue/reds are way nicer. He's pretty darn close to being my favorite.

Well, I've never been a huge fan of the Alt Skidz mould... if you ask me, it is the most perfectly named Alt thus far. If I were you, I'd just go with the Alt version. It's readily accessible and cheaper for a so-so toy.

I have all of the current Scion xB/Toyota bB molds, and I like them. Between the two Skids, though, it is a matter of personal preference. I love the Binaltech Skids, but he's a bit top heavy to effectively pose in robot mode. I like the window tinting on the Alternators skids, but I removed his gaudy flames.

Personally, i think Alt Skids looks like it came straight off the set of Pimp my ride. The stripes on the BT version seem to offset the lack of detailing on the side of the vehicle.

Well, think about it. If you get both BT and Alt skids because they're "different enough", you'll also have to get BT sunstreaker. And possibly Smokescreen GT. You're opening a whole new can o' worms here. Soon you'll end up with all the BTs anyway. So yeah, get Bt Skids :p

The Alts/BTs=crack analogy still holds true...

I didn't get the BT* Sunstreaker, or the BT* Alert. I have a handful of BTs, generally the more "unique" figures that are substantially different from their Alternators counterparts in a GOOD way.

If you want playability, then Alt Skids. If you want collectibility, then BT Skids.

TOTALLY different decos between the two. Much more prominent than say ALT Sunstreaker vs BT Streaker. Aside from the obvious diecast, lighter blue color, and lack of bling bling, the BT version has a 100% different deco on the 'bot mode parts. Different colors, different layout of paint apps...just different all together. I have both and see them as equally cool and both worth owning.

I like BT skids Much better. I just love skids dang it. I have two of Each and one Broadblast. The BT skids is much cleaner and more closely painted to resemble G1 skids in both modes. I like the G1 Stripe stickers over the flames, however the Flames and decals on Alt skids are real world stuff, you can actually order an Xb in those colors with all those Lovely decals, not that I would. SO for me, the difference in the two is the BT is more grown up, where the alt version is more of the teenie ride.

I don't think the BT version is different enough to warrant a separate purchase. I really like the Alt. version as well. I didn't think I would like him, but the decals work, and its a really good toy.

I should've mentioned- I already have the Alt version (as well as the rest of the Alts), but only the BTs that didn't make it Stateside. Smokescreen GT is also a possibility, but I'm thinking Skids first. Well, Hot Rod, then Skids.

I'm kinda in the same position you are. I have all the US Alts, and a the same BTs as you (just no BT* Alert or Broadblast, yet). Personally I wouldn't get the BT Skids if you already have the Alt. If I had it to do again I would probably have gotten the BT Skids over the Alt. Skids. But my Skids fix is satisfied with the Alt version. If I were you I would even stay away from the Smokescreen GT one, not different enough in my opinion.

I'm not a huge fan of the flames on Alt. Skids, but I also wasn't willing to pay extra for a toy without them. Plus the flames look much worse in pictures than in person...especially in robot mode, they're easily ignored.

I hated the flames on Alt Skids until the day I saw a real Scion with them. I remember thinking, "Huh, they do come that way." Ever since, I've been fine with it. Complaining about them is like complaining about the stripes on Wheeljack.

I prefered BT Skids since it didn't have the all the extra gunk on it.

It may be a minor nit, but the grill logo is different between the 2 versions. Could be a good reason to get the BT.
