I had an extra Tracks and a Skids head. This is my first time fully dissasembling and painting an alt. Matte finishes don't look as good on alts (learned the hard way!!) but I like him fine enough. Be kind...and any inf on how to make better decals would be cool. Sorry about the blurry pics.

Dude, for a first try, that's excellent. Reminds me a little of E Hot Rodimus, especially with the gold and the Skids head.

Doesn't scream HOT ROD to me! If you hadn't said what it was, I wouldn't have known it was him. To me, its more of a Swerve 2.0! IMO. Good paint applications tho! Keep up the good work!!!

I wanted to add a big gold spoiler. Couldnt figure out how to do it withought it being underneath his shoulders.

I think you did an outstanding job for your first Alt custom! Honestly, I think the decals need work, but aside from that everything else looks really nice! It's amazing how well that the Skids head works here! Nice work man and keep em coming! :thumb

Quick off topic bash question. Anyone think of making Cliffjumper out of Rumble yet? I'm debating.....

I wouldn't have thought of this mold for Hot Rod, but now that I see the pic, it seems sort of obvious... I mean, he even has the arm guns!

I don't think I've ever seen a corvette with a spoiler... I'm not sure how it would look, though it would certainly emphasize the Hot-Rod-ness.

Also, it'd be cool if you could get an exposed engine on the front hood. :)

Great colour scheme! Like fabexmax said, it doesn't scream Hot Rod, but a nice addition to anyone's collection none-the-less. :thumb

I like it, it looks good to me.

And the spoiler idea,...I say do it, the 'Vette mold looks sweet with a spoiler. True it will be on the "bottom" of the shoulder in bot mode, but it doesn't look out of place.

Warmachine did it on his Insecticon Customs (I think) And I did it on my 'Vette Optimus (I'm looking at him now) and like I said, it doesn't look out of place.

Yeah, nothing special, I had some stuff laying around, an extra Tracks, a leftover Prime head and neck joint, along with a spare Smokescreen spoiler, threw them altogether, and wallah!... 'Vette Optimus

I don't have the mold handy, but maybe you could do a spoiler a la G1 Rodimus Prime: movable. Just a thought. Also, he needs flames on the sides too, IMO.
