Hey

Got this odd head with a KO alt Grimlock that I repainted into Siren, and thought the head might look interesting on Deadend (as opposed to black sunstreaker)



Now the painting needs some fixing, especially the eyes (which i find impossible to do well - any tips???) but how does this head compare to the cartoon Deadend? Im thinking of removing the ears to make it more like what i remember

Remove the ears like you said and it'll definitely look close enough. Maybe you could do the purple visor too?

 

Actually a visor mighnt be to had to do, its just managing to paint that well in tiny areas. If anyone has any tips for painting eyes let me know. I havn't worked them out yet

Sand or cut away some of the nose area, and then the connected eyes will look more like a visor, paint it, trim the ears, there you go..

 

A tip I use is to take a toothpick, dip one end in the paint of choice and touch each eye with it until u get the result you want....most eyes are recessed a little bit, so a one nice dab of paint on the end of the toothpick usually does it for me.

Try it out, you may like it  

 

Intriguing and different, can't wait to see it complete.

 

I'll definatley give that toothpick idea a go. Gotta do it real soon though. We just bought our first house & gotta start packin my team up to move!

Is anyone still selling those KO Alt Grimlocks?

 

Not sure if they are still about. Found it by chance on eBay & thought id get one. Not too bad quality either

I've just painted the eyes, trimmed the ears and put some minor silver highlight on the head. looks ok. Have to wait for it to dry to post pics
