You've seen cases like - Not to mention - And of course - (Thanks for those quotes. Not picking on you guys, just the first three I found! ) So now, in roughly 15 minutes from thought to being made, I have done it. JAZZ HANDS EVERYONE! Not the greatest, but it's better than his claws. And if I ever want his claws, the hands can be removed.
wait, wait, you know it's against the rules to do something cool and not tell how you did it. you're not david copperfield, you know
I dunno... I think the reason they look slightly off is because the forearms are so long to begin with, and these new hands also have sort of a long wrist, so they look even more extended. Maybe fists that are stuck directly to the arm (no long wrist) would smooth the proportions a bit. Good job though! I need to try something like that! zmog
It's a start, but i have to agree that the long wrist and non-intergrated transformation make it iffy. I think the main problem is the entire forearm assembly/transformation itself, as opposed to specifically the hands.
Jazz hands! Yeah, I got it too... but I didn't realize that Waiting For Guffman had such a wide appeal. zmog
Here are my Jazz hands gotta remove for transformation, there just isn't much room in there to play with Close up
Has anyone tried this with old 1/144 scale Gundam hands? The ones made out of the soft plastic? They might be just small enough to squeeze into the transformation without having to remove them. Even with the shorter hands though, it's showing how his forearms are still awkwardly long (to say nothing of the poor articulation). I'm thinking that there's no easy fix for Jazz's arms... some more extensive kitbashing might be necessary. However, I DO think that this figure is actually good enough to warrant going through the effort to make him "perfect" zmog
