I just finished watching Transformers the classic Movie. Usually when I watch the first parts, that makes me think I should buy a G1 Devastator. Now it was years ago during postage of Toy Fair pictures of Devastator. Same night, I bought a Knock Off Devastator for $15 at a chinese toy store. Now at first I wasn't going to get the Encore one, but seeing how cool Devastator is and thinking about my KO, they are missing pieces, faces are not the painted and worst of all, Scavanger keeps popping open and falling apart. Should I think about getting the Encore version? That way, I would have maybe a better quality Devastator to play with.

Get the new Encore Devy, it would be diffrent if you had the HQ KO. It just all depends on what you want to do with it.

I plan to play with constructicons and combine into Devastator. Also, when I see the commercial for the Constructicon gift set, I grow jelious to who ever owns one of those gift set.

I have the KO Devastator, but I'm still getting the Encore.

I have a G1, but all the joints are loose as hell. I'll get an encore and keep the old ones in their individual modes.

Encore would be the way to go if you want to play with them without worrying about your ko to break on you then.

If you're gonna own a G1 devy, might as well be encore. If you can cough up the money, get CD upgrades.

Throw that knockoff in the trash and buy the Encore.

What I'm going to do, as soon as I get the Encore, I will compare the quality between the Encore figures and the KO.

I have a knock off Devastator too. Long Haul broke after not transforming properly, and is missing a face. Scrapper's head is molded backwards. On all of them their joints are floppy as hell and parts easily come off.

I transformed my KO Bonecrusher and it looked fine to me.

I bought probably the same KO years ago, thinking I could use a couple of the accessories and harvest some of the bot parts to repair some broken ones from childhood. I had bought the KO Baldigus from the same company, just for the kick of comparing it to my Takara version, and althought it was clearly cheaper and sloppier, I was surprised by how close it was overall compared to the same company's horrendous Aerialbots and Protectobots

I figured that since Devastator is pretty simple and I even had a really perfect orange KO of him as a kid, the KO Devy would be useful. Aside from a few pistols and maybe a fist, the rest was useless. I mostly wanted a couple of replacement wheels and the KO uses screws instead of pins. They look sharp, like wood screws! No good.

I guess I'm saying that assuming I have the same KO you've got, you'll notice an improvement in the Encore easily. Even the color isn't quite so violently bright. I think the Encore is a little steep, personally, but I've had the original and still have some pieces. If you love Devastator, I can't recommend holding onto that particular KO and pretending. You could always display the Encore and lay out the KO vehicles behind him on a shelf.

Encore of course, that way Takara-Tomy will see there´s demand for the stuff and consider new releases later :)

Since you have a cheap $15 KO Yes! If you had the high quality KO I would say no. I've had a few high quality KO's in my G1 collection. Two of them I replaced with vintage figures. But another two replaced vintage figures!

I will dump the crappy 15.00 version, buy the encore version or the 85.00 high quality ko reissue version. I will have both versions since the g1 style boxes are not the same. But if youre playing with them, then encore would be a better pick for sure for quality control issues.
