IF the Bumblebee in the movie looked like this I'd like the movies way more.

I want to know if they can pull off this look with the toys in the same way they did with the animated toys

ew, I wonder what that looks like

And about the bumblebee, I definitely see movie influence, but not much Animated, just more like a slightly different and simplified movie version, which isn't bad IMO.

    Look, I'm sorry.
I HATE to jump on the negativity band wagon, but unfortunately I can't force myself to be excited about this.

I am SO burnt out on the movie aesthetic, and that's all I see in that Bumblebee.
An animated version of the movie character. No, I'm not prejudging the new series. Sure, the writing might be BRILLIANT. Could be an incredible and innovative story. But you can't tell me that's not MovieBee. I really hope the other characters take at least a step or two away from the movie-verse aesthetic. If not, well at least there's WFC to look forward to I guess.

YES! Excellent. Hopefully Optimus, Ratchet etc all take visual cues from their movieverse incarnations as well.
And if Ironhide shows up in Prime he needs to be black and have cannons on his arms.

    Another 30 minute toy commercial

Becasue the characters are very similar to the move, it makes it easier to sell Hunt for the Decepticons toys. They can sell the same movie toys and peopel can relate them to the show.

interesting, definitively movie inspired but enough difference to require a new mold and hopefully one thats more animated style in transformation.

I think what they are going for is a movieesque look to bring in fans of the movie into the series and allow for easy move back into the TF3 toy line when it comes.
Whether or not the series is a direct movie tie in I do not know. I doubt it though based on that snippet from that comic book.

I do think we will see alot of characters who have movie counter parts will be much influenced by those designs, Hopefully if there is a leader class OP figure they can lower the frustration level in the transformation.

Hey if it works and creates a show acurate toy and vehicle, don't knock it.

I can only think of three animated toys that use that technique, Bumblebee, Sentinel and Swindle

Looks like it'll be negativity and hatred about the TF lines until at least 2012.

it's decent, a little too human looking for my taste, and seeing it drives another nail in the "no toy line" debate, as I couldn't imagine how that would translate into a toy that becomes a car.

It looks pretty good. I hope that we'll get to see what the other characters look like soon.

I don't really like but that's mostly because I hate the movie design

Really? Because I can definitely see the image of Snake Eyes presented here as ostensibly "cheapening" (i.e., taking away from quality) the iconic look and feel of Snake Eyes.

Are you serious? An adult version of Transformers? It's a kids show made to sell kids toys! IT'S FOR CHILDREN.

Aside from the fore-arms, i really don't see anything "Animated" about it.
It mostly just looks like the movie style simplified for Animation, which, aside from the eyes, I really like since my primary gripe with the movie designs is the way the overly complex designs make for weak visual silhouettes.

It's nowhere near as offensively badly proportioned and under-detailed as the Animated designs.

I'm HOPING that is just because that is an ill-chosen (as in: weird pose) still-frame from the animation blown up to wall decal size, cuzzzzz, yeaaaaahhhh that's not exactly what i'm hoping for style-wise from new Joe.

I love it, it's so sleek without losing detail, plus his proportions are awesome, love lanky bulky robots.

Looks like the WFC design with Camaro mode... maybe that IS what he is, except his face is like that due to his muteness or something.
