So yeah... you've probably noticed a recent return in activity from me in the past couple weeks. I've been here the whole time just silent because I've been avoiding a certain someone I won't name here. But I'm not sure who to ask about this so I gotta post.

I've been seeing allot of talk about CHUG lately. This is new to me and I don't know what the heck people are talking about when they say CHUG. To me, that's something frat boys chant at other frat boys in movies and whenever Beer is involved in general.

How the heck does CHUG relate to Transformers? I seen people asking about figures to add to their CHUG collection and thought it was some new toy line they way they were saying it but no such toy line even exists.

Can someone please explain CHUG to me please?

its a stupid outdated fan term to try to have a singular name for all the toylines that fall under the classics astetic

    Classics
    Henkei
    Uninverse
    Generations

this is excluding united and reveal the shield

just leave it as classics i say for referencing all those toys

CHUG is a very offensive term that's better off unmentioned.

Yeah I just call them all Classics... because that's what they are... Except for Universe which shouldn't even be lumped in there at all. I mean Universe was just a toy line filled with ugly repaints why would you associate that with Classics? Heinke or whatever it's called is just the Takara version of Classics and the others are Classics sublines. Kinda like how Hunt for the Decepticons is a sub line for Revenge of the Fallen which in itself is really just a subline sense all movie toys are just one big toy line.

So I guess this should of gone in toy discussion then huh? But I didn't know CHUG was exclusive to toy talk when I posted this.

I just call them each what they actually are. I'm not so lazy that I can't type a few more words.

Universe refers to Universe 2.0, not the 2003 Universe line.

The acronym started out as CUG, but someone (I forget who at the moment) added Henkei simply to make an actual word out of it. Much nerdrage ensued. You'll find most people are sharply divided on their acceptance/rejection of the term. Sad, really, because it's kind of just a joke.

And this is neither here nor there, but since you brought it up... technically, Hunt for the Decepticons (and Reveal the Shield) is a subline of Autobot Alliance, not Revenge of the Fallen.

I call Classics Astrotrain Classics Atrotrain. I call RtS Wreck-Gar RtS Wreck-Gar. I call Universe 2.0 Tankor Classics Octane. But I call my shelf where all of these toys and their compatriots (and HftD Sea Spray) my CHUG shelf. Why? Because the word "chug" amuses me and confuses anyone who I'm showing my collection to. Simple.

Actually, Autobot Alliance is a Japanese line. Hunt for the Decepticons and Reveal the Shield are sub-sets of the 2010 "Transformers" line (without secondary title).

This, Classics "style" is my favorite term as most figures are G1 inspired updates.

I was here, I just couldn't figure out what the heck anyone was talking about. People tend to use terms without really ever explaining what the heck they're suppose to mean. I still don't get why the term gestalts when it already had a term that was simple to understand, combiners. Gestalts just comes out of no where, has never made sense to me, sounds like something gross, and I refuse to use it to describe combiners.

CHUG from the makers of Gestalts. Yeah that just sounds really dirty.

While I prefer and use the term combiners, Gestalt didn't "come from nowhere" and it makes perfect sense, really. It also don't see why it would sound dirty.
