At 3:30pm on Feb. 23th, It's Walky of the Allspark Forums, comic artist, and TFWiki contributor posted THIS thread in the Transformers Discussion Forum. The thread identified an eBay auction for a 1986 Hasbro Toyfair catalog. The thread quickly evolved with the idea of a group of fans getting together and buying the catalog so that it could be scanned and recorded for posterity's sake on the TFwiki. In a matter of about 4 hours, money had been raised and the auction won in an amazing display of community support. Not only was there extra money left over, but many people expressed disappointment at not being able to contribute. Due to the quick thinking of several people, it was decided that any extra money received would be given to the Hasbro Children's Hospital. As of this post, there has been over $1100 raised and the donations will be taken through Sunday. Anyone who contributes will receive credit on the TFwiki as someone who participated in this collective purchase/charity drive. 100% of every donation received will be given to Hasbro's Children's Hospital. Also, after the scanning is done, the catalog will be auctioned once again and the proceeds will benefit charity. While this was originated at the Allspark, this is by no means a site exclusive happening. We believe anyone with a heart to give back could be interested in giving and so we want to give them the opportunity. Simply paypal your contribution to Allspark moderator Galenraff's account at firstname.lastname@example.org. Mark it as a gift so that paypal does not withdraw fees for the payment, although if you accidentally mess this up, Galenraff has pledged to replace any fees himself. If you wish to be recognized you can do so by screen name, real name, or both, and if desired also include the Transformers site you are contributing on behalf of and we'll note it in the record. Thanks!
