Oh yeah!!! I have been waiting to get this guy for a while. Not sure if anyone remembers my Project Nemesis Kidd (http://www.tfw2005.com/radicons-cus...idd-148369/?catid=searchresults&searchid=4351), but I tried to do something unique with the piece. Well, inspired by that, and Nemesis-kidd, I decided to go back to my roots, and do some crazy stuff. I gotta say thank you to F-R for setting the bar so high now..(loser):lol
O.k. Falt black, pruple, and GLOWING Allspark pulses. Kindda Tron-ish. Awsome huge outta proprtion weapons. Just right for animated.
I will have a cool back story for him too.

    QUOTE:
His paint job will be, you guessed it, blue fire with skulls. I am going to be using ALSA MIRROR Chrome got the chrome parts. Of course, battle scars. This time I am going to be going to be doing something I have wanted to for a while. Adding LEDs. He will have 4 working head lights(red), I will be replacing the chest glass with new transparent red styrene, then, I will put a LED in the chest.
When he the paint is almost complete, I am going to panel line him with a glow in the dark green-yellow.
He will have weapons GALORE and, the great thing.... is the removable facplate.....hum.....what can be done with that????

    Jeez.......anything else ? LOL !
    It's gonna be awesome !

O.K., So I have cut the new "glass" and will be painting it with transparent red and adding some other details. Here are a couple of new shots of the face that will be hidden. I am thinking deaths head II for that.
Tonight I am going to try to figure out how to open this guy up, remove that USELESS auto rotate gimmick. Then, if any body can knows any tricks (thanks Jin) or tips for the LEDS, That would be help full.

Sweet lord Encline how many Projects do you have going?

How did you get Prime's chest piece off? I am also doing a Nemesis Prime kitbash out of this figure but not nearly as elaborate as yours.

I was just going to apply Clear Red over the windows even thou it would more than likely make them a purple hue. It never occured to me to use clear styrene.

Good luck and I can't wait to see this and your Grimlock finished.

Well, work has ben kinda slow, so I make good use of my time!!!

About the chest, you have to unscrew the two screws on the the side of the chest. Now, here is were it gets tricky, to do it correct, you would also have to knock the pins out of the arms and unscrew the two screws that hold on the top. Then, it would slide off. Or, you could just use an exacto to cut the top screw holders, you will see what I am talking about when you dissect. Then glue it back. But, that is not the correct way:wink:

It is pretty easy, just knock out the pin, lean the head back and pull the face plate forward. No need to unscrew it.

Thanks a lot, but one last question:

Which side has the textured end of the pin? I can never tell and always tap the wrong side.:p

EDIT: I got the pin out (really easy, actually) but the chin/switch part gets stuck in the head and won't slide out. I thought you said it could just come off?

EDIT2: Argh, this is why I don't visit Radicons. The board setup makes dealing with these database errors impossible.

O.k., so these new pics are, as you can see, primes torso is completely apart. I have dremeled out the back(gotta clean it up a bit, and make a cover) to put the batteries and on/off switch, and wholes for the wires to go into the chest.

Let there be light(s).W ow, time consuming for sure. Now just to figure out how to mount the switch!!

Oh yeah, if anyone wants some really nice leds, radioshack has xmods bumblebee lights and guns for .97 cents!! Great find, they are normally $15.00

    lol!
no, seriously, I love working with LEDs, though they are a pain in the ass. I agree with Jin's tutorial, only thing I'd say is..never glue or apoxy over your solders, they'll end up permanent. I cover mine with vinyl or very sticky tape, then plain superglue the wires out of the way (very little so they can if needed be adjusted)

like he says, get all your parts from the dollar store, switches, bulbs, etc.
