Exactly. To Overlord, Earth would be a massive, bloody playground, full of potential carnage. That, and an Optimus versus Overlord fight would be awesome.

 

Well I do have a possible story for Unicron to be involved in the movies.

Lets say that a herald of Unicron (Someone like Astrotrain) steals Megatrons dead body and some other 'cons off Earth. He later brings them to Unicron to infuse them with the remaining dark energon he has. Unicron wants Earths resources to resupply his energon levels. Megatron is obviously Galvatron now and other cons are sweeps. Unicron orders them to find some Decepticon ships and warriors to ground Earths military and N.E.S.T. Forces. Unicron transports himself to Earths orbit and starts sucking away on all the energon he wants.... Until the Autobots crash the party, again.

I always saw the war as a blood feud: sure there is the whole tyranny vs freedom concept, but it was personal on both sides. Optimus Prime and Megatron were brothers, if we say that was canon, and there were also close friends who became mortal rivals. Even if there was nothing to fight over (Cybertron, and now that it's dead Earth to conquer and kill/enslave everything on it), they would be at each other's throats for the rest of eternity.

What's next? Hmmm... (just go with me here)
The Cybertronian Emperor Jhiaxus, who left Cybertron during the war for a new world, and whom many Cybertronians followed who refused to take sides. He returns to invade the Earth with his armada, but the Autobots stand in his way...

As a minor storyline, include as the new McGuffin the Dead Matrix, which brings back Megatron as a half-dead robot (like a PRIME Terrorcon but with his brains inact). This is held by Cyclonus, Megatron's most trusted and LOYAL lieutenant, who stands with Jhiaxus but in fact is a Decepticon spy... that's all I have at the moment. Will try to develop more.

Balder, the movie Decepticons were by and large a few steps above developmently stunted chimps. Their bare minimum of screentime didn't show that any man jack of them brought anything to the table but an ineptly aimed weapon.

Recourceful, I do not think so.

Given the notion of sequel escalation, and the destruction of Cybertron, the Solar Harvester, the All Spark and the equal decimation of the Autobots remaining forces.....yeah, a fight against Unicron culminating in a heroic sacrifice by the remaining Autobots is about the most plausible idea I can think of.

 

Have the new Autobots be Human Pretenders, Godmasters and Headmaster Jrs and have Hydra and Buster be Overlord's lieutenants, and I would be 100% behind this.

 

They want money. Money = power.

 

I've always thought people underestimate movieverse's Decepticons far too much, Megatron pulled off some very smart gambits on DOTM and some parts of ROTF, The Fallen was also very Genre Savvy [tvtropes], Soundwave managed to play the US government like a fiddle for FIFTY YEARS, the list goes on.

And they had warships. Autobots had at most the Xanthium, which doesn't even compare to the Decepticon warships.

 

They represent (including Starscream) three members of a vast command structure. I mean it may be the nature of the beast that Decepticons were a genuine case of cut off the head and the body will die.

Its true they had warships, but they brought them into orbit instead of leaving them in space and given how smart he was, Soundwave should have been in charge.

I was talking in the technological sense in my first post, so this discussion is sort of pointless  

 

well it was all megs master plan with some plans inthere for failsafe but dont say theres nothing if you dive deep into the transformers mythos (aka history) you might find something that could be a plot but i want to see if anyone else finds it

 

And the fact that the Cons had such tactical advantages makes their defeat even more sad. Actual chimps would have faired better!
