I plan to go to Borders tomorrow and I pondering whether I should buy the Allspark Almanac.

I'm pretty sure I'll pick it up, but I want some input before I go spend 20 bucks on paper, ya' know?

Go to Amazon.com and in the book section you can get it for like $17 shipped. I by all my graphic novels and books that way.

Also I have it and it is a really fun read. The boys on the TFW podcast and Moonbase2 gave it such rave reviews I had to see for myself, and they were right.

If you like Animated at all, it's worth it - lots of good reference and concept drawings, and a lot of fun to be had because character bios and episode synopsis are "written by" different characters. (the write-up of each clone of Starscream is written by one of the other clones! What's not to like? :)  )

Nice pictures on quality paper. Very nice to look at even if you don't like animated. I love animated and this book is a great way to look back on it. I just hope the second edition with season three comes out.

    (buy it)

    YES.

The AA is a fucking amazing book, it's loaded with obscure references, which sells it for me.

Hell yes it's worth it! It's filled with glorious references, all the most important Animated events, character models, location designs, all kinds of designs used in the show. Some characters are missing, but apparently there will be a second volume! :D
Go ahead and buy it, it's quite the read. All the character profiles are written like they were written by actual characters, so you can see what they think of each other. It's quite cool.

it's a good book. a very quick read though, as most of the page content is just giant images.

I am a bit disappointed by it, but I'm still happy I bought it. Get it.

They're coming out with a second volume?

Well, turns out that they don't have the AA at my Borders so I went ahead and bought it off Amazon.com.

It's fantastic. If you don't believe me, let some of the characters tell you how good it is.

"Hard to believe that a couple of organic humans put this volume together! It'll surely help make Magnus some day." - Sentinel Prime

A superlative showcase of early 22nd century Detroit! And I don't say that just because I own a substantial share of the publisher's stock." - Porter C. Powell

    "BOOK GOOD!!!" - Grimlock

"This here guide is invaluable in sussing out any potential quarries. Worth its weight in upgrades." - Lockdown

"This book ain't bad! It could stand a bit more on me, but other than that, pretty good!" - Bumblebee

"What a brilliant book! Probably the best I've read, human or cybertronian! I can't recommend it strongly enough!" - Sunstorm
