Forced to show his hand after Amazon.com updated their covers, Jim Sorenson has posted a full sized version of the Allspark Almanac cover on his blog Disciples of Boltax.

The Allspark Almanac continues in the tradition of Jim's two earlier Addendum's: The Ark, and The Ark Volume II, which comprised of character models and animation sheets from both the US and Japanese based Generation 1 cartoons.

The Allspark Almanac is slightly larger than the two Ark books, clocking in at 212 pages, rather than 208. The Allspark Almanac is set for release in August 2009.

An excerpt of the cover, drawn by Marcelo Matere (TFA: Whatever Happened to Whatisname?, Covers for Transformers Animated: The Arrival, Maximum Dinobots) can be seen below, head on over to Disciples of Boltax for the full cover.

Sorry but that cover just doesnt seem appropriate at all. Don't get me wrong, the art is great, I love Marcelo Matere's art; it's just that this particular piece of art makes the book look like a children's colouring or picture book as opposed to a production art book.

I think they should have stuck a badass picture of megatron and prime back to back on there or something with a mostly black background, or maybe a 'scrapbook' type cover......

this....yuck....I was totally gung-ho on ordering this right away, and now this cover as turned me off. I think i'll just wait until I can page through a copy at a comic book store before I decide to buy it.

Awesome! So ordering this. Wish Marcelo did the art on the mini series instead of the The Boo.

Me neither, but something as short-lived and special as TFA, I'm not going to miss adding this to my collection.

If it wasn't for it being TFA, I'd pass, but this I just have to have. Anything to show the series some love.

Ace, I am totally buying this, and that is an amazing cover - really got the vibe of what imho has been maybe the most enjoyable series of Transformers so far, tying together so many elements of the Transformers mythos in a fun-action-packed 'toon with a great toy line, for me it's one hell of hit.

It's being released in the UK too with an rrp of £14.99 to be released 29 Aug 2009

Lovely. I hope to find a copy soon. The commentary from season 2's dvd was so good; a whole book of insight will help focus on the hidden elements in TFA.

It's so re-watchable. The new episodes strengthen the old episodes importance.

I will be buying this. Animated is such a unique series in the TF mythos, and I'd love to read up about it.

    This book = :bay

Am I to understand that this book is entirely TF:A production art and such?

The cover drawing very much reminds me of the first Arrival cover. Man, Sari is posed almost exactly the same way.

Would be awesome to own. Maybe some day...

I don't understand the logic here. Just because you feel that the cover doesn't well reflect the content of the book, that doesn't mean the content has actually changed; it's still going to be the exact same production art book that you were excited about in the first place.

Unless you...wait, dude, are you literally judging a book by its cover? Didn't you listen to anything your mother taught you? :p
