And Ruination only amounts to Ruination in name and mold choice. The concept and characters involved are entirely different.

I don't get your logic. Whirl was a Wrecker. I also can't recall him ever having a toy with an accurate head beside the G1 toy, so finally having a new version of the character with the proper head is a plus. The only thing that's a little disappointing is the color scheme.

I just don't see why you think Rotorstorm should replace Whirl when, IIRC, Whirl was one of the original Wreckers.
