They need more people into the series? I thought ALOT of people enjoyed Gundam. Oh well. That figure looks sick though! I wonder if it's well articulated.

its a platinum version of the FIX figure, so it's likely very, very articulated.

I thought jewelry was the biggest waste of a precious metal. I stand corrected.

Good god. Seriously, what possesses them to do that? And to spend that kind of money on something?

Marketing, man. That thing's more than worth its weight in platinum.

Which is good, because if it was worth LESS, it would make no sense.

Actually, it's a FIX figure, so it's very, very, NOT articulated well at all. Basic joints but nothing like Classics Mirage.

It's great marketing if you ask me. They spent $250,000 on it but look at all the publicity it is getting and going to get. $250,000 is nothing to get all that publicity (which essentially is advertising).

I have a BETTER question.... I'm told that platinum is a RARE metal... a VERY RARE metal... so... who the fuck had enough laying around to spare for this thing?!?!?

... as opposed to painting a Transformer gold?

When you're as incredibly rich as bandai, you can pretty much do whatever the hell you want.

Considering how much platinum is used in jewlery it's not as rare as they lead you to believe. It's not likr there is only a few pouds of it on earth.

And it's not like they couldn't ever sell it to gain that money back if they had to.
