I know those Double Pretenders, massive Action Master vehicle mechs, day-glo extra repaints of the dinobots, Halloween Themed Beast Wars figures, additional go-bot repaints, and large-scale titanium figures would have sold like hotcakes!

It's okay, sometimes I lie awake at night, and I can't sleep because I don't know what a Double Pretender would have been.

that said, present company excluded, The Fans are generally fairly terrible.

We all say 'oh yeah i would 100% buy a [insert expensive TF here] encore' and then nobody does until it goes onto clearance. We all complain bitterly about every new show, and week-in week-out for the last thirty years proclaimd that Hasbro has finally died and the current toyline is just their pathetic deathrattle. We hold up clunky, naive toys from a shoddy Saturday morning cartoon as the apogee of character design, and said cartoon as the finest storytelling of its generation, whilst anything that deviates from that well-worn pattern is deemed to be terrible. Until it is old and then it's a collectible classic, obviously.

Perhaps worst of all, we assign gravitas and actual meaning to a kids TV show spin-off merchandise. It's not just us lot mind - fanboys of any flavour are a terrible thing to behold. Android vs Apple, UT vs Q3, Marmite vs Humanity - 'spergers will obsess over whatever is to hand, the whole autistic spectrum arcing like a rainbow over the forums as i am slowly overwhelmed and buried by the press of the clawing screeching mob.

"YOU'RE NO TRUE FANNNNNNN" they bellow, as they claw my eyes from their sockets.

 

You purchase a pretender.

but when you open it, you wake up and realize you were dreaming.

but you're trapped inside a giant plastic shell.

The Animated figs that never got released. Especially Marauder Megatron. A lot of the more recent not released figures in the U.S. ended up getting released overseas or on websites. soooo. yeah. lol
