updating their previous rumor (that it was happening), Comics gossip column All the Rage says:

"Speaking of the Avengers… Anyone else as excited as me for the Avengers / Transformers happening coming up in July? Ooooo! I cannot wait! *sends more diminutive scouts out for some energon and more data*"

Kinda makes me wonder if with Hasbro's recent deal with Marvel (they're producing the Marvel Legends figures and movie merch now) that we might see Hasbro's comic licenses revert to Marvel next time they come up...

The general impression I've got is that there wouldn't be much support at Marvel for welcoming back toy tie-in stuff... and they've seen for themselves that movies may bring some extra interest but don't equal huge comics sales.

On the other hand, they're currently keen (or at least open) to doing crossovers with other comics firms --

yeah, sorry i forgot half of my thought ~ Marvel's (by way of Joe Qs 'New Joe Fridays' column) recently started to express intrest in licensed properties again, because apparently the Halo GN did really well for them (plus, like i said, the have a relationship with Hasbro now)...

but yeah, as you noted, they like to do the intercompany corssovers too.

Now is this going to be a movie or a comic?

I've been hearing that this might be an animated movie.

If that is the case what are your guys thoughts on that?

pretty sure if it's coming in july it'd have to be a comic, an animated Movie would have more lead time and we'd have likely heard more about it by now...

    Ebay:
Stark Industries spearheading the Binaltech project.

    ^^^ That would be excellent.

If it turns out to be true, wonder what version of the Avengers are they gonna use and whether Spider-man will be there or not. I'd like to see a Spider-man vs. Megatron round 2. :D

*sigh* You know, there's a reason Marvel dropped the idea of the TFs being a part of the core Marvel Universe to begin with... *sigh*

Oh well, I guess it could be interesting, but I wonder if they'll use the current group of Avengers or if they'll use a different group?

Did any of you guys read the Thundercats / Superman crossover?

I thought it was pretty good.

I would like it to be the Ultimate Avengers, and G1 traditional Transformers.

I don't think the Binaltech line would work because it is the Japanese strory line. I believe they would have to aquire the rights. Probably kind of a pain in the ass.

I would also like it if they portrayed the TFs as mysterious.

Such as news reports of large robots being sighted but no body knows what they are, and somehow the Ult. Avengers get called in or involved.

I'm not saying that this should be the exact story line for this upcoming comic, but some where along those lines.

It'd be a lot more interesting than the standard "one group of good guys attacks the other good guys, then they team up" plot, anyway.

If they do it, I would imagine it to be the current running versions of each franchise. In the case of Marvel: The Ultimates, as for the Transformers, it would most likely be movie related or Unicron Trilogy.

I do love the idea of Star Industries spearheading an American version of the Binaltechs though. July is gonna be a good month is this turns out to be true
