So wait... will this series be replacing the usual IDW Infiltration/Escalation/Devastation story arcs? Is EJ Su not doing any TF comics in the coming year?

Guidi is alright, but I'm not sure if I'm ready to go back to that cramped, compressed Dreamwave-esque art style.

And what's up with the Seekers? They're all G1-Masterpiecey... not that I mind really, but what happened to the Raptor alt modes?

Hah, nice, Masterpiece Seekers... as long as they look like seekers that actually exist in this series (IDW ongoing, I'm glaring at you), I'm happy.

*sigh* I love Guido's art, but I love art consistency within a series more...

Hmm. I was kinda hoping for some more original looking art. Like on the promo pics with the stylized design to it.

Nice Masterpeice jets, but this is kinda dissapointing.

I´m I the only one to notice Thundercraker´s face? He seems concerned opposing the very happy Skywarp next to him.

Wow a stylish marketing campaign and then BAM back to more of the same old, same old. I guess we shouldn't have gotten our hopes up, you could throw this page into any other TF series.

The art is nice though, I guess the artists don't have control over things such as what style the publisher wants the book in.

I am not criticizing Guido because I do the same thing, but I wonder if the reason he used MP Starscream and the reason why every Prime and Autobot looks like Masterpiece Prime now is because the artists are using the toys as detailed, highly poseable reference material.

I think so, or maybe Hasbro wants to push those designs? Or maybe he just likes that design. Can anyone comment on that?

Also, I can see a LITTLE bit of the cutout-style in the smoke, that's cool.

There is supposed to be an in-continuity explanation for the design change. Personally, I'd much rather the characters in the book look like the toy I have. I was very pleased to see Classics Ramjet and Jetfire in the IDW universe.

I'm disappointed. Not about Guido's work which is always good, but rather that they're taking a step back with the alt-modes and probably other things. IDW's take with Infiltration and such were the first in a long time to actually try something different: modern yet familiar alt-modes, vehicle mode battles, a more interesting cold war concept with organized warfare and such. Too bad it didn't seem to sell enough that it warranted such change.

Ah, good, I was wondering about that. Still, it'll be interesting to see why, of all things, they'd scan OLDER alt modes instead of newer ones.

And I don't get the complaints, either. Seriously, you wanted an entire 12-issue series done in the style of those promo posters? That would get old quick. 'Sides, Guido is my second-fav TF artist next to Don. Looking forward to this series lots.
