Late to the party folks & just got Firage a few weeks ago. Whoa..I was fiddling with my Firage & only just realized it's almost red body parts are fully painted!

B'coz when I looked underneath each of the red plastic pieces, it looks somewhat dull in texture whereas most of the surface area has a cool glossy finish. Initially I thought AAT was just using bare shiny red plastic for it. It's amazing & now one of my fav 3P bayformer releases.

It's kinda ironic for their first release, they were off to a great start. It was a good sign actually.

But then along came their 2nd release El Cid..they stumbled..really bad. :(

Or is it just a clear gloss coat on one side of the plastic?

Upon opening my Firage, it had a TON of QC problems. I contacted BBTS and received a 50% refund, which (in my opinion) made everything right.

On my first transformation, even if I were to pretend the QC problems weren't even there, I hated the transformation. HATED HATED HATED.

Last night, I transformed FansToys' Arcee. Wow, what a difference that makes in one's perception of transformations that are not fun. After transforming Arcee, I Firage seemed like a Fast Action Battler by comparison.

I realized I didn't really hate the transformation, per se, but rather, the ridiculous amount of tabs that are so big it's actually hard to get 2 pieces to line up. I took a nail file and reduced almost every tab by about 50%, and now I don't need to use Superman-level strength to force certain parts to tab together. I now think the transformation is fairly reasonable! No, it's nowhere NEAR as fun as, say, UT Peru Kill, MMC's Stray, or Takara's MP Sunstreaker (my current FAVORITES in robot-to-car transformations), but I no longer hate transforming Firage.

I simply CAN'T BELIEVE the same company that made Phoenix and the Iron Dibots also made Rouge. Rouge is everything the Iron Dibots and Phoenix are not.

The Iron Dibots are sturdy. You could probably use any one of them to bash a burglar over the head, and burglar's skull will probably be in worse condition than the Dibot. NOTHING flops around. There is NO guesswork in what position this or that part should be in, in order to change from this mode to that mode, because EVERYTHING pegs or tabs in or has a specially-made groove. You could violently shake any of the Dibots in any mode, and NOTHING would be dislodged. From the largest hip joint to the smallest ball joint, the tolerances are PERFECT.

The opposite of all of that stuff is what I feel about Rouge.

On topic: I really want Reprolabels for Firage. Robot mode is ornate enough not to need any labels, but I think a conservative amount of "real-grade" style decals in car mode could go a long way.

I’m going crazy with this guy, maybe somebody can help me: are his door-wings supposed to lock into those pegs on his back in robot mode? Because, well, they just fucking don’t.

I tried everything, but the way the hood and roof fold up onto his back keep them from firmly locking into place, and in fact they incessantly keep on popping out. It’s really ruining my enjoyment of this figure that I can’t lock anything down on him. Every time I pick him up, whatever part of his body I have a touching either unlocks, or falls completely out of place. I don’t know how anyone is playing with him proposing in for these nice shots, he’s just a pile of moving parts.

If I am just being dumb and I am missing something obvious, maybe somebody can post photos of how everything is supposed to walk together? I’d really appreciate it.

Neither side on mine locks so I don't worry about it. But I can understand the frustration, he has a lot of moving parts and they don't always stay in place when fiddling with him.

Welp, I got it; stupidly, the hood goes in sideways. You can see the one point sticking up over his left shoulder. That will allow the doors to lock in, but I’d also recommend a dot of superglue on each peg to mushroom the ends.
