Help me out here- how should I feel about this?

    Happy at the prospect?

    Disappointed in his blatant commercialization?

Annoyed that they've really, REALLY started scraping the barrel in terms of guest stars?

Just trying to run the gambit of potential fan reactions.

    Blatant commercialization?

He's doing a cameo on a show that he's a fan of. On top of that, he's poking fun at his own image as a surly recluse. It's not as if he's going to hock his works in cartoon form.

Personally, I don't give a rat's ass. I stopped watching the Simpsons years ago, and no longer care what they do.

You just watch. Sooner or later, somebody'll complain about it.

I bet he'll be on the show, and then later lambast the writers of the show for not doing an episode closer to his original vision for that episode. :lol

Either that or they will forget to put his name in the credits, causing him to stop watching TV for good.

Neat that he's featured. Depressing that he's not writing the episode. If only he could have appeared back when the show was decent.

I think its cool he'll be in the show, but I agree I wish it was when the show was decent. To me, the golden years of The Simpsons was when Conan O'Brian wrote a few shows in the early 90's.

That's my sentiment right there. Not that I've got anything against Alan Moore, but we're quickly approaching the day when everyone the least bit famous will have appeared on the Simpsons.

Of course, I still remember the days of the show when celebrities would just come on and voice some character or another, rather than having to appear as themselves so the main characters can do the "OMG, it's [celebrity]!" thing.
