I searched this board and didn't see this mentioned before, but if it has been please disregard this:

I was just watchin the teaser and happened to notice the number on the deck of the aircraft carrier #72, but when you see the carrier sinking it's #74.

Is this just a mess up by the CGI team or are there multiple carriers? Possibly one is a flash back?

That was actually a great observation on your part. I really don't know what to say. Maybe there i just more than one carrier, eve if it's not seen in that shot initially. Or it could just be a mistake.

    It's a homage to G1's animation errors.

The Decepticons swerved at the last minute and damaged the wrong carrier.

It's prob a mistake like in the first movie when Bumblebee was caught by S7, and sam had his hoodie on in one shot, then off in another.

I just wanted to see if anyone else heard something and this could be proof.

    :lol  Nice find.

I'm guessing it's a animation error. But there are heaps of new Cons, so others may have trashed that one sinking.

There are flight crew standing on some of the F-18s who don't react to the fact METEORS JUST BLEW UP THE BRIDGE ISLAND AND ARE SMASHING RIGHT THROUGH THE FLIGHT DECK.

Maybe it isn't an error at all. Maybe Bay had got his wish for an aircraft carrier Transformer and the protoform meteors damaged it by accident, meaning the carrier TF would have to reformat.

Why would ne number change? If the original ship was destroyed, keeping the number would give the game away. (Just as it did Blackout in TF1 -- if he had landed undercover, he could have have accessed the data remotely or, at the least, sent Scorponok in at night.)

You know I bet they used the carrier shots from TF1 to save some $$$$. They most likely used some footage they shot and then added in the cgi of the decepticons destroying it. I would bet that if you checked the numbers on the carrier in TF1 they will match up to the teaser trailer. Just sayin.

That is a great possibility. But you would think the CGI guys would know to put in the same number if they are creating the screen shots.

This could be 2 different scenes all together. One as the protoforms enter Earth, and another battle scene.

I doubt they are going to have a carrier transformer as they are already spending a shite load of $$$ on Devs. If they do then they must have gotten a 2 for 1 special!

I forgot to say thank you for your service in my last post.

And not to :horse:  but here is a pic showin the #74 out of the water. So maybe the #72 scene was old footage from T1?

I can't see Bay sinking 2 carriers..... so it's most probably a CGI mix up..... Wonder if there's enough time to fix a mistake like that?

The shot which shows the CVN-72 USS Abraham Lincoln is probably stock footage. They just composited the protoforms onto it.

But the crew did shoot some scenes aboard the CVN-74 USS John C Stennis, thus it explains why the sunken carrier shows the number 74.

If anything, they probably missed editing the 72 in the stock footage to the number 74 to represent the ship they're shooting on.
