I don't have this figure yet, but I am definately picking her up when I get her. I've heard a lot of negatives about her, watched reviews and seen she isn't as good as other prime figures due ot her large backpack. However, I can get past most of that considering she still looks fairly decently like her show counterpart.

The biggest part of her that bothers me are the spider legs. Only 3 and at that, very short.

Call me a noob, I just discovered shapeways :p  Has anyone considered maybe having a set of 8, longer legs that can peg into the port onto her back and perhaps, if they're capable of holding the weight, hold her up on their own?

If I had any skill with modeling and building custom stuff, I'd take this on and try to make it myself, however, I don't. I'm wondering if anyone here would be intrested in trying to get something like this made.

I think it's only a matter of time before someone devises a spider mode for her. I actually think I saw something around here where someone already did that. I'll try and find the thread for it. As for having only 3 legs out of the box, it would look a little weird with a helicopter having 8 rotors.

That's when you switch back to the old rotor. Her helicopter mode looks fine as is. It's the bot mode that I think needs help, and I feel that the spider legs alone would help the figure a ton.

See, now if I could make those legs I would do it. I wouldn't even know where to start. That's so damn awesome looking!

I would have honestly preferred the 'drider' rather than the helicopter as an alt mode. Too much ws sacrificed to make it turn into a helicopter.

Now if a third party company can take care of her arms that'll be a good start as well.

I'm hoping, but highly doubt we'll get a drider. I'd prefer that over the chopper. The chopper is just too....earthy for lack of a better word.

If you read through that thread that was linked to, you'll see that the designer is trying to make it such a way that the "Drider" (Where the hell does that come from?) mode feasible, albeit with the use of a clear plastic stand.

Yeah I saw that. I'm hoping he can pull it off and make an awesome figure.

As far as her spider legs:

    Go Shapeways or go home.

A creature with the upper body of a drow and lower portion is that of a spider, its a DnD creature in case you were wondering. :D

No, too much was sacrificed for the helicoptor mode with the pointless opening cockpit gimmick.

Instead, the cockpit remains intact on her back, resulting in an extra mass that does nothing, and blocked head articulation. If they had made the cockpit/nose the arms, then she could have had unhampered neck articulation, and extra mass could have gone into the legs instead, instead of having to split the underbelly mass between the arms and the legs.

The spider legs probably wouldn't have happened at Deluxe scale. All that extra jointing wouldn't have panned out on such small rotor blades.
