Wow. Did you have to glue on panels or just drill through existing plastic to get holes for the rotors to sit? For that matter, how did you get the rotors out?

EDIT: Disregard. I read your blog. Silly boy not going there in the first place.

Very nice custom, if only the official Deluxe mold looked this good.

When i first saw this thread just a few moments ago i thought "Scrap! Someone beat me to it!", but then i saw it was a custom of the Deluxe :p , and what i currently have boiling away in my brain is something larger (Voyager size at least, Leader at most). I'm just trying to find good reference pics for Airachnid's bot mode.

Overall I too am very impressed with this, I hope who ever bought it is enjoying it.

Do arcee's arms fit on airachnid's shoulder ball joints without modification?

Can't transform, but for a robot mode that much better? Worth it.

No, AA's shoulder balljoints are smaller than Arcee's. It looks like Cheet has kept the original upper arms and added a new elbow joint, forearms and hands with the old forearm kibble glued on to the new forearms - I don't think they're Arcee's either.

At first I thought the arms were too long - they look like they reach her knees stretched out - but after looking closely at my own AA it's because the torso length is short compared to RID Arcee's, and the arms would be too short compared to Arcee's if they were done so that they came to mid-thigh and it's really the lesser of two evils. (Really, you could say that about any customisation made to this figure - I tried moving the original kibble behind the head to the back of the shoulders, but it just screws up the arm articulation.) Serious kudos to Cheet for making the best version of Airachnid possible, though, I'm going to use his as inspiration for a similar attempt.

all you need now is the shapeways upgrade for the spider arms, and it'd be perfect
