Im telling you guys she gives me the creeps that shes going kill another autobot. I didnt feel that way with breakdown or knockout but her I do.

She was great! Creepy, sadistic and evil...

I'm on board with the helicopter alt mode.

The arm panels look like the cockpit. And I clearly saw a circular rotor top (on her back) where the spider legs came out...

Her legs (when in spider mode) kinda look like the tail of a copter, too.

Great color scheme and cool voice.

I hope to see more of Airachnid.

 

In my opinion she almost seems like Prime's version of Jigsaw, she likes to play games with her prey, like when she tortured Arcee with what happened the last time they met, and when she was chasing Jack. I'm feel like I'm in the dark though as to her past, like I get the feeling there's a bigger twist coming that involves Airachnid. And the helicopter alt-mode idea, doesn't sound too far-fetched, especially considering that "Air" is in her name.

 

My hypothesis is that Airachnid is actually a Predacon. I see no reason Predacons and Decepticons can't co-exist in this Universe. Maximals should be able to exist as well. Hopefully we'll see one at some point.

 

You think she could be a Triple changer, since her name is AIRachnid?

No one else seems to have done this, so I went ahead and took a screen cap of Airachnid's faction symbol and compared it to both the Predacon and Decepticon symbols. Neither of them are a good match, but the Predacon symbol is closest. Perhaps they've updated the Predacon symbol?

All I know is that Airachnid was a very well-handled, creepy character that I look forward to seeing in the future. And the whole dichotomy between her and Arcee reminded me a bit of Ellen Ripley's relation to the xenomorphs in the Alien movies, so there's that.

 

It's only tangentially related in the first place. Blackarachnia turns into a spider, Airachnid had a third mode where she walks around on six legs.

May as well complain that Starscream isn't Silverbolt, because they were both airplanes and are thus interchangeable apparently.

 

This makes me wish Lance Henriksen had voiced Cliffjumper!

 

And they barely share that. Blackarachnia turns into a spider with a completely humanoid robot form. Airachnid has an alterate robot form that's vaguely spider-ish.

That's like saying Bulkhead and Optimus Primal are exactly the same.

 

Given the hinted relationship Arcee and Cliff had, that would give Aliens fan fic shippers WAY too many ideas.

Well, what I wonder is if Airachnid will remain Arcee's enemy, or just be an enemy to all the Autobots.

 

I love the way that thread was run into the ground, through the center of the Earth, and then out the other side into orbit above China.

 

While I agree with most of the stuff in the OP, I'll have to agree with SPLIT LIP that she's neither seductive nor Black Arachnia-like. Save in her spider motif, which lends itself naturally to a design with similarities between the two.

Personality-wise, they're very much different. And if I had to pick one major attribute that separates them, it's... desire.

Black Arachnia in BW had ambition. While the Animated BA had a drive to rid herself of her organic parts. Both these versions had a "desire" to drive them forward.

Airachnid's desire doesn't focus on self improvement or advancement. She's just in it for the sheeeet and giggles.

 

Like Wheeljack (and every other cybertronian - oy...), she already has a parts of an alt mode she's yet to have a chance to scan.

Note the stealth canopy halves on her shoulders....


Even she's confused how they got there...
