Quint from Ain't It Cool News spent some time in New Mexico on the set of Transformers

    Highlights:
-Blow by blow description of Scorponok attacking US military as they struggle to call in an air strike to get him
    -Many, many explosions
    -Description of Scorponok's tail
-Bay shot a video introduction to go on the website (hopefully soon, this set visit was in May)
-Bay wants to show an animatic of a Transformer on the website as well, depending on Paramount approval

Jeeze. All that to deal with the freakin mini-partner. I can only imagine what taking on a normal Decepticon will be like. Let alone Megatron.

I wonder why normal people have such trouble with spelling the name 'Scorponok'.

Given 'scorpion' is spelt with a C... Scorponok should have a C, not a K, no?

No, there is no hope for spelling. No rhyme or reason to it at all. Just be a sheep and go with the status quo.

Yeah, but it seems only the heavy weapons (via airstrike) can. Their light weapons have pretty much no effect.

And lets face it, heavy weapons would probably trounce Rumble or Frenzy.

Still not sure what to think.

It's going to be a Bay movie, but will it be a good Bay movie (IE: Bad Boys I&II/ID4/The Rock) or a bad Bay movie (IE: The Island/Armageddon/Pearl Harbor). I'm hoping that it's a good Bay flick and if what the writer said is true (IE: Bay wants Paramount to show us some animatics at SDCC) than I think he wants us to want it to be a good movie too... yeah... that sounds right.

As far as Scorponok getting smashed to hell by US Military weapons... yeah, let's face it. Soldier type stuff probably wouldn't affect a TF, but heavy armaments (missiles of some kind) probably would trounce little guys like Frenzy & Rumble... and this version of Scoponok seems to be just that... a type of Frenzy/Rumble/Ravage...

As for the comments about Nukes against TFs. Well, yeah... I've always thought that most of the TFs would go down in a nuclear strike if the World Government ever became so crunchy. Sure they may be more technologically advanced than us, but that doesn't mean that they're compleatly immune to our weaponry. Anyone ever watch Robotech/Macross? Good example of what I'm talking about.

Ha - Bay & the important types that were there the entire 3-4 weeks did not stay at the Holiday Inn - they all got apartments/condos for their stay.

I thought Roland Emmerich directed ID4.

Sounds like it's all going in the right direktion. :p

And yep, Bay had nowt to do with ID4 - that was originally conceived as a sequel to Emmerich's Stargate.

Yes, because unlike the Japanese super robot shows we've been exposed to lately, this movie's Transformers aren't made out of some super-magic material that will only sustain damage if a New Super-Weapon™ is introduced, and Giant Explosions™ have more effect rather than just "everything glows like crazy, and then the opponents will get blown away several hundred feet, but they won't actually be damaged".

Human weapons can damage Transformers, but only heavy artillery and only after a long time of constant attacks. Just like you could did through a stone wall with a bunch of spoons, it'd just take you a very long time.

    The Skorpokon is worse, though.
